Excellent! I love the grain. The general abandoned atmosphere of the scene really draws me in. And who doesn't want a mile long hot dog?
I was thinking these stores might be boarded up because it's the off-season, but then I realized California doesn't have an off-season. Were all of these stores abandoned?
Fantastic pic - where was it taken in Long Beach? Long Beach Blvd? I used to be stationed there.
If you were to go there now, there'd be a lot of parking structures and a modernized version of what used to be there- the Long Beach Nu-Pike. The shops appear abandoned because they soon were. The place closed just a couple of years after I shot the pic above.
Nice picture!!! Aren't old pictures great? Almost like getting in the way back machine. Man I loved Tri-X. I used to buy 100 foot rolls & roll my own. Used lots of D76 at 1:1 too.

Tri-X was king! I used a lot of D76 at 1/1 too. Grainy—yes, but sharp as a tack!...also used a lot of ACU-1. Brings back good memories...fiber-based paper, heavily diluted Dektol, extended tray time to get the good greys.......
