Show us your... Night Photos!
Thanks Tsukiji, Juan, and DiD,
I just tried what Tsukiji said and fiddled with the mask like I do for adjustment layers. Good greif, talk about doing things the wrong way for too long. Your suggestions make a huge difference in applying a customized digital graduated ND filter. Much much more simple to modify.
See, this is what happens when you purchase several PS books, but never read them and instead learn everything by experimenting. Things are often learned the hard way. Dohhh!
JCmini, nice photo and nice car. I like the side decals; haven't seen them before. Is it just me, or would a bit more contrast or curves punch up the electric blue color more?
I look forward to seeing more of your photos.
Cheers!

speednut... Could you share info on what camera/lens combo?
Photos are GREAT! You have inspired me. Only thing, I have no back seat. Maybe I could rig up something using the mounts for the rear "strut" brace.
Thanks!
Jim

Jim, great chatting with you yesterday at the BSSP event!
Basically, go wide Jim, really stinkin' wide. I used my 16mm fisheye on my landscape camera w/ full frame sensor. APS sized sensors will need the 10mm lens. I cropped ~20% off of the top and bottom of the photos I submitted. The curvature of the front seats was the big give away of using a fisheye lens IMHO while the view outside of the windows wasn't distorted. The far back of the sunroof had a wicked curve to it, but I cropped it out since it looked too weird.
I'd hate to drill a 3/8" hole in a rear strut brace just for a tripod head mount. Maybe make a mount plate that the tripod head can mount to and has enough metal to use some clamps to hold it to the strut brace on either side? Another option I was thinking of was a suction mount to the rear sunroof glass from the interior. Photos will come out upside down by default, but could be updated in post. I just worry I'd pull a stupid manuver, loose the suction clamp, then have a heavy SLR conk me on the back of my head.
Looks like I'm going to have to learn more about these suction mounts. Juan showed me the one he used for his April contest entry and looked like a very well engineered Manfroto base. Other than making a mess on his paint, he said it worked very well.
I'm curious to see what you come up with.
Cheers!

Photos from the pre BSSP rally on Saturday night, 4/29.
I'm hoping that posting these photos will encourage DiD to let us take a peek at his work that same night. He had several poles out with flashes and multiple assistants. Please do share if you can Dave and show us how it's done.

Great photo DiD. That's an awesome location... here are some of mine from that same place!

Not as good as DiD's, but thought I'd share...
Here are a few more nights (same night)

Nothing too special, but worth a share!
