I have an Alien Bees unit. (It has a built-in slave.)
You'd have to be near an electrical outlet however.

I like Pics 6 & 7 also. (You know I'm a fool for those low angles in #6.)

On the 2nd Pic, the passenger-side seems different on account of it reflecting the color of the structure too much.

For Pic 3, your car's shadow looks a bit harsher. (Probably because of how close it is to the wall.)

All in all, I always look forward to your photographs.

I saw on your site that you were experimenting with an Alien Bees with excellent results.

I may pick up another SB-600. While it's not a strobe, it also means I don't have to worry about the power source. For now, that's what's in the budget.

RE #2: I have the same issue with it. I was so focused at the time on getting the hood right I missed the side reflections.

RE #3: Just a little earlier in the day with more intense sunlight being reflected in. One other person mentioned that shadow to me too. I may try to adjust that a bit yet.

RE #6: I'm a sucker for the low angles too.

5, 7, and 8 are excellent dave. Really, just great. That's a fantastic interior shot. The motion shot came out beautifully. You're getting some serious distance on the cars! Bravo!

 

Yes definately weather is getting better here and im definately feeling the need to go out and do some fresh shots.

Invested in some Mag-Lites so il be painting with light or at least attempting too

Just waiting for a moment to wash the car and then go shoot - try and coax some frends too to join in

As for No7 its the strong uninterupted horizontals leading to the vanishing point that really make it slap you in the face.

Having looked at the other shots 24hrs later im liking them all - 1 & 2 just are classic and have a real late evening warmth too them.

Was much post work done on the first 2 or are we talking just basic light level stuff im guessing the originals may have been slighter greyer in appearance?? just a guess coz thats what i sumtimes get - but then again I have English weather

Is it me or in No.4 is the only thing thats missing is either sumones big shoe next to the car or a big hand - the car looks like a kids toy - no negativity intended coz it looks excellent

Great as always, David. Even though it might not leap out at most people as being spectacular, I know how hard it is to get an interior shot like that.

I know they're (quite a bit) more money but you might think about getting an SB-800. I love mine and use it a lot even though I also have a couple of Alien Bees. You can also set up multiple SB-800s (more money...) and control the slaves from the on-camera master unit. I have a friend who has two SB-800s and I've played around with that. Really cool.

But I certainly know about budgets!

I already have an SB-800 and an SB-600. I'm just looking for another remote flash so that I could run either the SB-800 on camera with two SB-600s as remotes in different flash groups, or run the SB-800 and the SB-600's all as remotes in the same flash group and trigger them with the D70's pop-up flash in commander mode.

Given that I already have an SB-800 I'm finding it hard to justify getting a second that would only act as a remote. The SB-800 does have a larger guide number, but since I'd only be using it as a remote, that isn't enough to justify the price premium for me. Thus, the SB-600 decision.

 

Ah, that makes sense. I didn't know you already have an SB-800. What I should do one of these days is eBay my SB-28 and SB-80DX and get either another SB-800 or SB-600 or possibly some other goodie. If I had Pocket Wizards I could keep them and use them pretty much like I could multiple SB-800s but I am, unfortunately, Pocket Wizardless.

I love the first two, for the excellent natural lighting and the mood. I like seven for capturing motion and distance (vanishing points like someone mentioned earlier).

And I really love the interior shot!!!!

Man I LOVE that paint color like none other. IT IS SWEET! DiD is that your car? I wasn't aware you got one if so... I really would like to see #7 in a 1024x768 as it would be AWESOME as a Desktop image. THOSE RIMS ARE TIGHT TOO! What are they? I am truly amazed (like always) at DiD's work. Everthing so clear, so crisp... mmmm, mmm.
