New Toy

Finally broke down today and bought a Nikon D70S kit. I've been looking at the D70 for a while but decided to wait for the S upgrade.

Now, all I need to do is learn how to use it.

Congrats dude :D

The biggest tip I can give you is one that was given to me when I got my Canon Digital Rebel..... Read the manual and know everything in there. You will be many steps ahead of most people out there...

Also, DiD has the same camera I believe, so he'll be able to help you out I'm sure

Thanks, I've read the manual twice now and will probably keep going through it until I feel comfortable with all the options.

I did take a couple shots around the house and I am very pleased with the image quality and the versatility (which is why I wanted a new camera).

The only thing I haven't found yet is a way to change the size of the image. I would like to make the files smaller in order to faciltate emailing the images. I'll keep looking and see if I can find a way to do this in the Nikon software.

Yeah, I'd definitely keep the camera on taking high resolution, and just edit them smaller once they're on the computer. I'm sure the D70 comes with software to do that.

Morris9982,
So tell me, how do you like the camera so far? I am saving up for one and hope to get it before the end of the year. Everyone that I talk to raves about it.

Thanks,
