Love that engine shot. All the shots are beautiful, especially the cockpit shots.

How about another "shot", with someone behind the wheel? Work the same sort of trick, with some photoshoppin', and be "The Visible Motorer"!

Cheers,
Matthew Z.

When I saw that translucent pic, I just thought, "whoah!"
As usual, your motion pics are excellent. They're becoming your "trademark".

Scooby: nicely blended engine shot. One thing that I did to mine at the suggestion of a friend was to remove the green and yellow decals that sit right behind the MINI emblem. It helps make the logo more prominent.

Juan: thanks. I have been experimenting with new setups to enable some new perspectives.

Neutral Gear

There are no dumb questions, just ones that are not asked. Somewhere along the line, I missed the training on how to get out of neutral gear on the threads. I have been sitting at the same intersection for what it seems like forever. Makes for lousy gas mileage too.

D70 - what lens?

Very nice work! Your work inspires me. If I could only come close to the caliber of you composition and lab work.

What are you using for lenses on the D70?

Keep up the photo posts. They are an absolute joy to look at.

studtke: you're out of neutral and into 1st gear. Welcome to NAM and the photo/video forum.

rockymt98: Here's my current list of lenses:

Nikon 70-200mm F/2.8 VR - I use this lens a lot for automotive photography, sometimes with the Nikon TC-17EII teleconverter.
Nikon 18-70mm F/3.5-4.5 - primarily used for automotive photography
Nikon 50mm F/1.8 - mostly used for indoor low light
Nikon 12-24mm F/4 - mostly used for landscapes

Do you have a D70 or are you contemplating a new purchase?

D70

Thanks for posting the lens list.

I have a D70....sort of :-) I bought one for my daughter for graduation last year. Right now all she has is the stock lens that came with the D70 "kit". Because it seems like I'm using it more than she is I was thinking of picking up some lenses. The Nikon line is one I'm not real familiar with so your list is very helpful in making a selection. In the 35MM film world I have Olympus OM equipment.

But as we all know it's not just the equipment that makes the photographer :-) I can only dream about getting results like yours.

Thanks

I'm curious as to how you get those shots when the car is moving. From what do you shoot from? Another car? If so, how do you get such a low angle of view? I think those pictures are amazing!!
