Go Pro Cameras

I've been looking at buying a Go Pro camera recently and I can't decide which one I want to get. I really would like to get the Motorsports Hero (around $200 on Amazon) but at the same time, I would also like to save ~$50 and get the 960. Does anybody have any opinions on whether the 960 is really all that much different from the Motorsports, aside from the mounts and such? Mind you, I won't be doing any heavy editing, mostly just posting vids to youtube. Thanks!

Strongly recommend GO PRO HD, really good quality and definition, very good battery life, it is rechargeable.

That said the new version will shoot I think 10 frames a second which allows for some really nice slo mo.

Here is a link to some video from last years MOTD using HD version.

I have been looking at this too. Really want to get one for the next dragon run. I will probably get the Hero2 HD motorsports one.

I have both the 960 and the HD. For everyday shooting you will get loads of use out of the 960. The HD of course will do 1080 and has a higher res still camera. This is good if your use calls for that.

That's an awesome video! So since I have found the HD for $200 with all of the mounts and other accesories that come with the motorsports kit, do you think I should go for it? I like to use slo-mo in videos and I have watched some of the 30fps slo-mo vids and they aren't too good..

Keep in mind that a new model is out, the Go Pro Hero2: http://gopro.com/cameras/hd-hero2-motorsports-edition/

It is $299, where as I got the older model for $199 a few months ago, and it may come down even more.

Hero HD will do 60fps in 720p for sloooomoooooo.
I used mine for track events. It's usually mounted to the inside of the windshield recording in upside down mode. I have also mounted it on the outside with no issues on track over 140mph.

Do you know what the differences are between the new and the old one are? I didn't know that there was an older version, so that explains the $100 off of what I thought was the price on their website.... -_-

That's good to know, do you have videos on youtube that I could watch? I'd like to see them

Gizmodo did review on it. I think they did a good job going over it.

From what I can see it seem that the read out screen is newly redeisgned and that the picture seems to be more vivid and a little more clear; It was a while ago when I read it so check it out.

I have the GoPro Hero HD 1, and I love it. I'm really tempted to upgrade to the two because it has much more capabilities, quality wise. It shoots in higher resolution, and it has more options for FPS.
