Why GoPRO?
Why GoPRO?
So I continue to contemplate if I should pick up a GO Pro or continue with my current camera.
I use: Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1
It is shock Proof, Waterproof
12mpxl
Shoots in 720p
I like that I can use it for just about anything and as far as a Youtube upload, it seems to be pretty decent quality. Also it fits perfectly between my passenger headrest posts for driving vids.
The GoPro does 1080p, and there are a variety of different mounts etc available for it.
Not sure what everyone else is doing, but for not needing to use it on my helmet, I am wondering if it is worth really going for?
Here is a vid shot on my Panasonic:

If you're happy with what you have, I'd keep it unless you're really looking to burn the $$$
If you're not happy or are looking to spend the money, form the research that I've done, the Contour looks like a better camera than the GoPro, but I haven't been able to personally use them, I'm throwing it out there as another option you'd likely want to research. You might be interested in a camera that'll do GPS so you can watch your speed and position around the laps (though with your current angle you get a speedometer reading as it is). If you wanted to stick your camera on the car's exterior the light weight and relative compactness would be bonus features, but what you have now seems to be getting the job done unless you're burning Blu-Ray discs and want the extra resolution.

You may also want to seek out something like this to put between a CCD camera and a DVR http://www.blackboxcamera.com/pic-osd/gps_units.htm for a true overlay
