I uploaded this but then the gallery page said i didn't have access to view the pics so i dunno if it uploaded or not...

 

I just shot dave a PM to check the submissions gallery to make sure all photos were uploaded successfully. He should get on here shortly.. he's waking up from a nap.

 

The policy is actually that just posting a photo to this thread does not mean you're entered. The photo needs to be submitted to the contest gallery.

Kurt just wanted to make sure that you had submitted your entry by uploading it into the photo contest gallery. In the past we've had some people just "post" their entry into the thread, thinking that was the way to enter the contest.

Since Dave posted your name in the list above, your photo was properly submitted.

 

Oh yea, Ok, This has been my first time putting into the thread so I wanted to make sure I did it right. I uploaded to the gallery, I just wanted to make sure I didnt do anything wrong... Hopefully the size doesnt kill me I promise I wont upload a big pic next time... I thought the upload scaled it down.. My bad assumption, Sorry.....

 

If you submit a photo no larger than 800x600 or 600x800 I post that photo. If you upload a photo that is larger than that, I post the resized "medium" image (the gallery default size).

 

So the fact I uploaded a bigger pic doesnt matter? But its just prefered to upload the smaller pic?

 

Correct. The one you submitted just got resized.

It's preferred to be 800x600 because it's a reasonable size to display in terms of width.. and because we try to be 56k-friendly.

 

What is this 56K you speak of:?
