WI: Internaltional MINI and Mods?
WI: Internaltional MINI and Mods?
Just curious for all of the Wisconsin owners out there who have modded their cars while still under warranty.
I hear that some dealers are pretty cool about it, and others are just jerks.
Anyone know what International MINI is like? Nice about it?
They strike me as the type that are cool with engine mods, but if anyone has any experience with it, it'd be great to hear!
Edit: I'm an idiot... I totally mis-spelled "International" in the subject... sorry...

Much better choice is Knauz in Lake Bluff IL or Patrick in Schaumurg IL.

2. (If modded) When you took it in was it just for an inspection or service and did they still do the inspection or service under the warranty?

I do have a "funny squeek" from the belt from a 15% pulley that was likely installed improperly...they said they wouldnt fix that. I had a control arm break...it's posted here somewhere...search "broken control arm" they said i must have hit something...and didnt cover that...btw..I didnt hit anything...hope that helps...

I actually took it in last Tuesday. I talked to Cameron (one of the service techs) and he pretty much said that IA understood that there are a lot of awesome mods out there and they would be as open as possible without MINIUSA kicking them. (read: wouldn't get reimbursed from them for warranty repair)
I'm glad our own Milwaukee dealer is open minded and seemingly ok with mods... I'd hate to have to drive somewhere else.

I had no problems with Int'l MINI providing the covered oil changes and maintenance service.
Knauz is reputed to be 'mod friendly', but I don't have any first-hand experience with them.

What is a good place (in the Milwaukee Area) to have some Mod work done? I just got my MCS 03 and i started to mod it, but i don't have the tools or the location to really be that "do it yourself" kind of guy...
I'm thinking about putting coils on soon along with a few other things, but i want it done right!
Any experience/ recommendations...

For a pulley; supercharger or crank, I would wait till Randy Webb has a local (Chicago) pulley party. http://store.webbmotorsports.com/for...06d20587538c55
No other idea on the other stuff. Good luck and post results of your quest.
Once the "mod bug" bites it's hard to stop.

The party was almost a month ago; there's lots of do it yourselfers that I'm sure would be glad to lend you a hand; and I can second the recommendation of Knauz
Mod friendly, and service above and beyond any other dealer I've been to.
Just my luck... i ran into a guy with a MCS last night downtown, and he suggested a place called Alpine imports... They are suppose to be able to do any mod you would like them to do...here is a link to there website...

Twominis & Motor on... thanks for the rapid response… I will have to take a drive to Knauz and check them out!

I think I'll give them a call and if I end up going there for anything I'll post about the experience.
