So I finally got ticked off enough about Ohio Front License Plates to do a little research... Turns out, there is a House Bill in place trying to change the law requiring a front license plate, so I setup a little web site to help put fellow buckeyes in contact with their representative!

From the response I've gotten from my representative, the only thing holding back the law is the Ohio State Troopers, so go ahead; urge your legislature to put it through!

TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS!!! This is no MTV "Rock the Vote" BS, it's actually a way to make your life a little better!

Looks like a worthwhile cause. Saving money as well as contributing to the beautification of the State. e-mailed my rep. recommend others do the same.

If i lived there i'd send my rep an email!! Thankfully i've never lived in a state that requires a front plate. I've always wondered, what is the "official" reason for having them??

My state rep. wrote back to me. Seems we both agree on the issue, so he plans on voting for the bill, if it gets out of committee in the same or similar form. The only opposition is from the cops, who claim it would reduce their efficiency in identifying wanted vehicles. But this is pretty lame, as about half of the neighboring states are rear only plate locals. What, don't their police get the bad guys?

So the cops can get the license number of bad guys running away from them in reverse!!!

Thanks for the great site ,,,,,,that was easy, plus I sent it via email to memebers of the Mid Ohio Motoring Club and the MINI Northeast Ohio club, so maybe we'lll get some momentum going
BTW I have a 99 Ford Lightning and have been running only the rear plate for 4 years now, just couldn't let them drill holes in the lower fascia, will pay the fine if caught iI guess

Cursed dealer put holes in my front bumper before I picked it up, but I have yet to have a front plate on ANY of my Ohio cars...hate the things. I keep mine in the pouch on the back of the seat just in case...

I will certainly sign up for the no front plates deal,,,,

I trimmed mine to be narrow like a European plate. But it would be great to do away with them altogether!

Thanks for the effort!

Nice site, and very helpful to have the links to the representative sites & Email. Well done! I emailed my Representatives and hope to see this go through sometime in the near future.
