Is there any gatherings of NE ohio mini owners?
We are from the Akron area, and are in the midst of purchasing a 1974 MKIII Austin Mini. i realize this website is mostly for "new" Mini owners, but was wondering who was in the area, if there was a active group in the area, and would anyone mind a pretty older yellow mini tagging along sometimes? There are several of us older austin mini owners around, that were wanting a mini group to either start, or be a part of.
the more the merrier..
please respond to kansar@diebold.com
Thanks.

I have relatives in that area, although none own MINIs (they are the "we only drive american" bunch), sorry, but as to your wanting to join up with new owners point, none of us would mind, we welcome you and your 1974 Austin Mini, the only people who seem to care about mixing the two are some owners of the originals.

As an owner of some 5 british oil leaking rusty shorted out brit cars, i can only apologize for any snobbish attitudes of original owners.
As a mini owner, i am truly glad they have remade the marque.
i could only wish the old one was built as superbly as the new.
however they are all about fun, old or new. and thats how it should be treated!
hopefully the older owners will come to grips and we can all enjoy the fun!
RK 74 mini!

I'm always up for a rally.

Two Sundays ago my dealer, Classic Mini - Mentor, Ohio, had a rally to go to Dave & Busters (about 40 miles). There were 75 '03 & '04 Mini's. It was a pretty cool ride!

But, unfortunatly, I have no idea if there are any other rallies. If anyone hears of one in NE Ohio, please post it.

Thanks
Jim

Guess I'd best clear this up, lol...

That Classic MINI rally was a joint function with my club, Mini NEO. Its a Mini club I started up about this time last year, and we have about 120 members. Stop by http://www.minineo.org to join up. So far our website only has message boards, but it will be bigger soon. If I can get the webmaster to find time to finish it,

If you have any questions, e-mail me at SarcuxKSU@msn.com

Hi "southwind25",

I live in Jackson Township area south of Akron. Just moved back to the area from Oklahoma. Was actually trying to import an original mini when my lovely bride suggested that we did not need 3 cars and that I should trade in the old Honda and buy a new Mini. 2 weeks later and a roadtrip to Memphis and I was in an '02 BRG MC - just happened to stumble on to an available Mini at Roadshow Mini that was part of their original allotment and no one on the waiting list was interested due to the options and extras (plus everyone wanted to wait for the S). Been lovin' it ever since. I was not able to participate in the last couple of functions with minineo and Classic Mini (just had a new baby girl last week

Have you checked out the Mini place in Cuyahoga Falls on olde 8????

That Mini place on Old 8/State Rd. is run by my friends Colin Greenan and Paul Podnar. They now also sell aftermarket accessories out of there, in addition to new and old minis... stop in and check them out. Colin has a GREAT band, too... plays at Liberty Harley on many friday nights.

To all NE ohio Mini owners.
when it rains,,,
I wish to thank ALL the Old Mini as well as new MINI owners that responded.
many of us old Mini enthusiasts had no idea how much was going on and where..
unfortunatly we had no idea of the great club that was already established and thriving within our midst. I am hopeful that all the old mini owners will add their enthusiasm and experiences to the new mini owners, and perhaps make the established orginization that much better. Now that we know such a club exists, then power to it and Kudo's to those that have worked to establish it. i would request the existing officers to encourage and inform ALL mini owners as possible.
i hope the word can go out through old Mini venues that such that a focal point for our cars is in place, such that we all can add our names to this support group.
from what i have read the existing club has a number of fun events and welcomes ideas. i hope this will encourage old and new to share in the fun of all mini motoring. In reality, they are ALL "real" mini's..i have yet to see a fake one!
i am looking forward to sharing all our mini's together.
