To All MidCal MINIers,
We have been invited again to join the SoCal MINI Maniacs on their annual WTSOB run. ALSO, we have been challenged to a bowling tournament!! Let's show SoCal we not only motor hard, but bowl even harder!
CHEERS!

Here's the details:
Saturday April 28th

We will meet at 9.30 and leave at 10am SHARP from Starbucks @ Shaw and Hwy 41 in front of the Ramada Inn

We will join up with SCMM at 12.00 @ Taco Bell on Weedpatch & hwy 58

This is an intense run that starts on the valley floor and we peak out at about 5,500 feet on the twistiest roads in the central valley. Not only is it pleasing to ones driving spirit, but to the eye's also. Plenty of wild flowers and green meadows and tall mountain ranges tipped with thick green woods! The run is about 2-1/2 hours long not counting the lunch stop in Kernville.

So come on out, and make sure everything is in tip top order (brakes, tires, and fluids) and have a good 'ol time y'all!

BTW, it would be a good idea to make this one an overnighter and there are numerous hotels in Bakersfield.

I won't make this run this year, as I will be on the road to the Dragon.

Hey MidCal'ers!

Could you please let us know the headcount of those who are up to the bowling challenge? We need to reserve some bowling lanes. We also hear you might be recruiting some ringers. Bragging rights for entire year is up for grabs. Look forward to hanging out with you on the run and at the social. We do encourage you all to have as many drinks possible before we bowl..it will make it easier for us.

So...do we flip a coin to see which club Michelle will bowl for?

Jana and I are planning on being there for the run. Unfortunately, we will not be able to stay for bowling. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again! We have a Theater Play to do in Tulare that night so we have to get back. Sounds like fun.

What a Great Run

My Thanks To So.Cal. I cannot wait until next year.

I may have to sneak a solo before next year.

It was great until I killed my Car.
The car threw a code on the down hill side of 155 and went into Limp mode.

I pulled off & shut down and restarted OK. But I went home after that.
I called Steve Tech and he had me come in to check the code.

I'm really disappointed that I messed LenghWise Brewery and the Bowling.
I was really thirsty by the time I got home.

See you all soon.

Hi guys!
I had tons of fun on our run & was sorry to leave early. I had the weirdest thing happen, which Steve (Custom Mini Shop) is going to help troubleshoot. Friday night, I checked all my fluids & tire pressure to make sure everything was in working order and ready for some hard driving. The drive from Fresno to the meeting place was uneventful & normal. I was able to draft off of Greg, which was fun.
3 minutes into the drive (after leaving the meetup place) my oil light started blinking on/off/on/off & then stayed on. I quickly pulled over, popped my hood & checked fluid level again. I was a-ok: I didn't notice any knocking &/or drivability issues. However, the light came on another 3 times before meeting up with everyone at McDonald's. Each time the light came on, I pulled over to make sure I wasn't going to "grenade" & blow my motor all over the road. Fluids never seemed to be the problem.
Finally, after making it to McDonald's, I let the car sit for a while & the oil light didn't come back on. I wanted to finish the run, but since we were right at a freeway on-ramp which headed back to Bakersfield I figured I'd rather be stuck close to a town rather than out in-the-sticks & miles from nowhere. The car ran like a champ all the way to my in-laws house in Ducor with no issues or lights coming on.
Well, another strange gremlin popped up - the NAV screen kept getting stuck & saying "please wait" which I've never had happen before.
Six hours later, when I left Ducor and headed back to Fresno, my SES light came on & has stayed on since. Sooooooo....I know evaluating your car's performance using the idiot lights is one of the dumbest things you can do, so I think I get to score the ProMini guage package pending Steve's professional prognosis.
