I'm not much of a lobster guy. We were going to do the "Freedom trail", the "red line", today but it's was very nasty outside, so we took a drive to the beach again. Flying out tomorrow

Waiting behind a little blue beetle on the side of I-5 south for 3 hours to finally get a tow truck that would tow the beetle back to Kettleman City. I thought towing with my insurance company was good come to find out it's not so good. I will be switching the towing part of my insurance to AAA premium this week. At least that way my daughter could of had her beetle towed to Lemoore in one shot and not have to get friends with a trailer out to load it up and bring it home after the 17 mile or nearest repair facility tow job. Started with a phone call at 3pm that she was broke down battery light on (suspecting and alternator) ended at 9pm when we finally got the car home and she was only 43 miles from home. I guess I could have paid the $6.00 per mile the tow company driver wanted...

$6.00 per mile is cheap for a tow. I guess it all depends on what your time is worth.

I know how that feels. That is what happened to me in LA earlier this year. Luckily I was able to have them tow me up and over the grapevine. It was 98 mile out of my 100. and then tom came and picked me up with the trailer. I have the AAA plus but the AAA premium would have got me all the way home. See you soon!

No warning signs that the battery was low or starting problems? I forgot, but did she take it to the Beetle guy in LA? Maybe a loose ground strap that can cause the same problems with the MINI.
