Alta's make more than just a little noise!
They should sell them with the caveat that they will wake the neighborhood when you drive by.
I had them on a week and the wife said "What!?" a few too many times.

CMS boys, this is still kinda bothering me. You guy's are a H-sport dealer right?
Yes we are. Just don't have the H-Sport arms in stock, but I can get them.

I got them for the reasons everyone is talking about since at the time my car was a daily driver. They were fine for the first two weeks, then the top (closest to center of the car) nuts came loose. I tightened them and added blue loctite. It wasn't a huge problem checking and tightening them every few weeks; I actually didn't mind much since it wasn't the lower (outside of the car) nut that really holds the camber setting in place.
Then on my third track day on the arms, I got finished with a session, checked everything, and sure enough, all of the nuts were so loose I could move them with my fingers. Obviously, this killed the camber setting in the rear, and the car has pushed like a pig ever since.
I don't daily drive the car anymore, so I just (today) ordered the altas and will have them installed at my next alignment.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend the h-sport arms if you intend to keep the alignment in tact. Everyone I speak to says this is very odd, and I have not taken it up with h-sport as I just don't care enough to get the run around. I'll hopefully be happy with my heim jointed altas.

:impatient I give up on trying to figure this stuff out . Brad, keep the Altas close to the springs .
Jim, whatcha' doin with your suspension? From your posts it sounds like you're doing a complete new race-ready suspension. I can't remember though- have you installed coilovers yet?

Just doing springs, rear control arms, and soon, rear sway bar.
Hey people"Phil Wicks Driving Academy" is coming to Buttonwillow Sept. 29-30. If you're interested in driving on a track exclusively with other Minis this is the place. Sat. would be a good warm-up for the solo-2 on Sun. I think there is still room in all classes from novice to advanced. Check his website for the 'all abouts' of his events.

I'm not going with coilovers. I would like to, but the cost does not warrant the driving I do. Going with M7 springs instead, should give it a nice look .

Ok, I'm personally thinking of moving forward on a new suspension setup. I've had the H-Sport setup (front & rear sway bars & springs) for over four years & the ride quality's been ok. Not great for just cruising around with my old lady, but decent enough in the few turns I've gotten to take. Looking back, I wish I'd gone with coilovers and gone with quality versus trying to save a couple bucks & then pay again later for the "real" setup. You'd be amazed at the difference in ride quality on a car with springs versus a car with coilovers. Plus, the fact that you can dial in the ride quality within 2 minutes for each corner just makes it that much cooler.
I know the costs associate with this project, but if you plan on keeping your car for years to come I'd make the plunge instead of paying twice - like I'm doing. Just my 2 cents though.

Would love to go. Anybody go a spare 1k I neen the 200$ for the track day plus Ive got zero tread left on my tires. Maybe we could make it a club outing? Those that want a track day can do that and the rest can kick back and watch the final race of the MINI challenge.
On the weekend of Sept 22-23 there is somthing going on at willow springs. Jan will be bringing out his GP (which I got a ride in the other day sweet!!) and his new 650hp w/o Nox and another 250 w/ Nox shot. says it should be in the 9's.
The dealer finished everything on my car today. I was happily suprised to see that they replaced my EBC greenstuff pads which were dangerously low with new oem ones. I guess when I cooked them to the point of turning my rotors red, it took all the green off the pads. Sweet!
