Thanks. B group may be only a dream for me, though, especially since my MCS is just an auto. However, I'm pretty happy with my progress, all in all.

OK time to get this thread back on track.

I sent Kerrie Lane an e-mail to confirm that a few of us were planning on coming to Nelson on the 15th of June for a FunDay. She said we don't have to confirm or contact her. Just show up at the gate & pay your money. My advice would be to shoot her an e-mail anyway. Better safe than sorry. If anyone doesn't have a helmet she has loaners for $20.

As much fun as that would be, I'm sorry, but they aren't going to let you. Although last year at Classic MINI's track day I saw someone with a bike helmet & another with a batting helmet. Believe it of not.

Hope you can make it on up.

I'm about 95% sure I am going to make it to this event. I've run at Nelson a few years back. It's a blast. I've been wanting to get the MINI up there. Hope to see you guys there.

So about how many minis have commited to going on June 15th? I got a Nelson's Fun Day gift certificate as a Christmas present last year and am trying to figure out what day to go. The Classic event last year was cool, I didn't drive on the track that day because my daughter wasn't old enough to be my co-pilot.
Would be neat to go with some minis.

Hey Kimoz- You weren't the guy with his daughter in the stroller who we were talking to at lunch during the Classic event were you? (I know...thats a pretty vague question there :-D, but I remember that for some reason..)

It's looking bad for me, Chuck. Replaced 2 runflats with ones I had, but when I went to put the other 2 on, one had a bad plug so I pitched it. So now I have 2 good ones on the back and 2 so-so ones on the front. I don't think a day at the track would be real good for the fronts, and I want to take the MCS to MME later in June.

Jeff, I understand. If your tires aren't good enough for a track day I'd say they most likely aren't good enough for the drive to MME & back with a dragon run thrown in for good measure. I see a set of new tires in your future. Better to be safe than sorry.

The people at Discount Tire said the fronts are OK for highway use, but not for the track. For now, what I have will have to do, unless I can find someone who might want to buy a set of Continental 175-65-15s with about 1500 miles on them. Then, I could get some track tires for those wheels and continue to use the runflats til they, too, meet the shredder.

Unfortunately, Mini Meet East is that weekend, and many Mini/MINI owners are headed there [Alcoa, TN], and will probably take a side trip to the Dragon as well.

I think you are off on the dates Jeff. MME is at the end of June. Come on up & play with us at Nelson.

Man if you go to Alcoa you are just about required to do a dragon run.

I'm somehow lost here. Yes the Vintage weekend at M-O is the same as MME. The fun day at Nelson isn't.

No apology necessary. Chuck knows I'm in-between tires right now. My runflats are still good, but barely so. If I take them to Nelsons Ledges, I could have a real problem getting back to western Ohio safely afterwards. I might do better by going to MME and the Dragon, but only if I don't push the car too hard thru the curves and again, finish off the tires before the long way back home. All that said, I'm in a fix of my own making, as the tires were out of align for MOTD in May and that's the problem. Of course I COULD just get new tires, but, with what they charge to take off the runflats, I'd never put them back on again [and they are still not so far gone as to just pitch them]. Sighhhh...problems, problems....

Does she KNOW anything about the MINI roll bars? Or the reinforced A-pillars? They are designed to be functional, not just show. This seems like a knee-jerk response without any substantive foundation. Do other facilities also ban the MCC mor MCSC?

Oh, and I WISH I could make it. But I just saw this thread and I don't think I can.
