Nelson Ledges Fun Day 6-15-07 =)
Crashton, I am sorry too we didn't get a chance to chat. I was tempted to run with the "A" group to see if I could keep up with you guys but I didn't want to be a road block for the Vettes so I stayed in the "B" group. They were running plenty fast enough for me.
Crashton, I remember you asking for gas while I was in the tower. No worries about the confusion.
On another note, my dad and I will definatly be heading back sometime later this summer (before mid august). I will post a thread for another trackday if any one else is interested.

I had a super time guys and girls!!!! We had a great group of MINI drivers there and I enjoyed everyone's company! Good friends, good weather, MINI's and a race track.....what else could one ask for? We definately need to get together as a trackday group again! I did get some in-car video of my first two sessions only (note to self- charge camera batteries prior to event...). Things turned out a little shaky, but I do have some footage of me passing Chuck on the front straight :-D I'll try to do a little editing and get something posted to youtube in the next day or so.
It was a great time, nice to see everyone!!! Lets do it again!!!!

Once I get a Garmin [or similar] and find the freaking place before noon, I MAY have a better time of it.
But, other than that, it was fun meeting people I hadn't met before.
As stated by others, we'll have to get more LAME members involved for another run at it this summer!

I have a Nuvi 350 & it works well. Most of the time I just use it as a map. Speaking of maps a good old fashioned paper map would have worked well for you. I keep a DeLorme map book of Ohio in all our cars.
Yes we do need to do this again.

Thanks, I think the one with Barb chasing me is the funniest. Katie got some quicktime movies. My little red mini looks like slow motion compared to you and Chuck.
Katie also got one with the Lambro behind me (for once) in turn 1.
It really was fun.
(I can't believe my arm didn't get torn off)

I just started playing with the video, I only have in-car from the morning two sessions seeing as how I let my batteries discharge.....too bad, I sure felt like I was getting much faster later in the day as my confidence level rose.....
I took some lap times from these videos, looks like my best lap of the morning sessions was a 1:20.
Let me get to work on some editing here and will post youtube links shortly...

Very nice Jason.
I think you need to rethink your video mount. The angle of view is great, but when driving on a bumpy azz track like Nelson it looks like you are in the movie earthquake.

Actually, I've played around with the mount and different cameras....it has nothing to do with my mount and EVERYTHING to do with my still camera taking video's.....I just need to save up some cheese and buy a real video camera!!!!

I didn't realize you were shooting with a still camera.
I'm guessing a video camera with optical image stabilization would be the hot setup. But for that lots of cheese you will need.
All in all a great effort & way better than the video's that I didn't shoot.

The last autocross I ran I borrowed a friends video camera, it was one of those inexpensive ($80) digital video camera's with a 1 gig card....it took care of the shaking problem but seemed to have a real hard time with the light. I think being mounted inside of car shielded from the sun trying to film outside of the car on a bright sunny day cause issues- all of my footage from that camera was washed out.....
My camera (sony DSC-H1) does have image stabilization for the video, but I guess mounting it to a moving vehicle is asking too much......OH well....
