Mini Meet East, 2010
MME 2010 Daily fees
All,
Mini Meets East (and West) have usually been multiple day events, and have included a Concours, a Rally, an Autocross etc. And, yes, they have seen escalating costs in the last decade -- which can be expected. For this year's fee, one gets the usual goodie bag (a cloth souvenir bag, not a plastic bag from Moss or whoever), a banquet ticket, a picnic ticket, a chance to be in the concours, the rally, the autocross, the funkhana, the panoramic photo, and the cruise.
In order to be covered by the event insurance, one has to be a registered entrant, so we simply cannot allow non-registered cars to participate -- I hope everyone understands that. None of the organizers wishes to risk a law suit that could mean a big change in life-style.
Usually, one signs up for the whole event even if they can only be here for part of it, that is if they plan to participate. We don't have daily fees set up, nor can we.
However, there is nothing that prohibits someone from being around on Thursday, for instance, and walking through to see the concours, looking over the cars. We almost always have passers-by stop and gawk at all the Minis/MINIs. You can show up on Saturday and watch the Autocross -- that often draws a small crowd. You can park at Youngs Dairy and hang with the group when the cruise is there.
Bottom line is that if you simply want to spectate, come and spectate. If you want to PARTICIPATE, then you need to enter.
Final word, IF we manage to make any profit from the event, we will be donating to charity.
Come on down and have some fun, be a spectator or join the group and participate.
See you here!

Paul thanks for clarifying things. The need for insurance is huge & any large event can't exist without it.
Due to circumstances beyond my control I'm sorry to say that I can not register & participate this year. I will try & make it there for a day & spectate, camera in hand.

For those of us who want to spectate, where are all the events taking place at? Is the autocross out at Kil-Kare? I'm not sure of any other tracks in the area. Is everything else based at the hotel? If nothing else, I'll definitely swing out to Young's (haven't even been there yet this year).
Thanks for the info, can't wait to see everyone around town!

Event locations
Concours is in the back lot of Quaker Steak and Lube, Autocross at Univ of Dayton Stadium Parking lot -- rest of stuff should be in vicinity of Hotel.
Hope to see lots of you guys. We (Sue and I) are in charge of concours, and will be around all the time....
Wish we could get Aaron to come over and vend...hint, hint....

We were planning on making it at some point on Friday on the way back from Florida. Any idea who else might be going? It will be a long drive up if we dont get to see some of you guys that day it might not be worth stopping.
Just got back from the show at Quaker Steak over lunch break. Very cool stuff out there. I'm glad all the out of towners showed up on the nicest week of weather we've had all summer! Now just waiting it out until Young's tonight.

there were a few classes. comp class, hot A series with 10 inch wheels, stock 1275, and a few others. I won the hot A series class. The honda motor was with the comp class or unlimited. The course was setup for a mini, nice and tight. you didn't have much time to put the power down.

Insurance is a beast that gets us all. We're hoping we can get there to spectate a little but not quite sure yet. I'm sure it will be a great time had by all.
I had a great time.
