Mini Meet East, 2010
Just wait for the next generation they will not be the R 82's to me they will be the tri-news. And of course they will be accepted just like all the other Minis, but I draw the line at the quad-new Minis those things are going to suck.
I say don't worry about it, this coming from a classic owner. Go and have a blast. I will be useing my vacation days too. I think sometimes there is a little bit of seperation. Classic owners want to learn more about other classics and the new owners want to learn about other new minis. I love both and want to just have fun. We all have the same goal, to have fun with our cars.
Hooray a Dayton get together! Maybe then I will actually get off my lazy butt and show up.
The website says Fairborn, any one know what Venue? Also, Thursday night is the local drag strip's test and tune night in the summer. I know we don't really have drag cars, but it's be hilarious to flood their staging lanes with tiny cars.

That is what happens when you acclimate to a strange shift imposed on you by your employer.

Hello all you Ohio clubbers! It's been awhile since We've been able to make it down for breakfast, but we haven't scratched it off the calendar, it is just been one hectic summer and fall for us.
Yes, the Ohio Mini Owners (the classic Mini Group in the Dayton area since 1971) are hosting 2010's Mini Meet East in Dayton. We have already been busy in planning meetings since August. We will have a car show, a rallye, an autocross and a funkhana over the three days. We will take a panoramic picture at the National Museum of the US Air Force of all the cars in attendance. We will have a picnic on the rallye day and finish up the event with a grand Banquet.
ALL MiNi owners and their vehicles are welcome. Yes, some of the classic Mini owners are grouchy about the BMW MINIs, but that will not spoil your/our time. Many of us have both -- I have been known to tow one of my classics on a dolly behind KERMEE or M&M.
We have not yet got the registration costs all figured out, but I suspect we will have that information up on the website before the end of next month -- we are still awaiting information on sponsors that will help keep the costs down. Stay tuned on our website and you can always contact me via NAM PM.
We would welcome any help in running the event from the members of the very famous, and very fun-loving Mid-Ohio Motoring Club.

Hi Paul, glad to hear you & Sue are alive & well.
Should be a good time next summer at MME. As far as grouchy Mini owners go, well I know a few new MINI owners who can grouch with the best of them.
Hope to see you guys soon. Have a Merry Christmas.

Grouch, grouch, grouch!
That would be me, I guess.
On the otherhand, I have been to 3 MMEs [ '05, '06, '07] and have never encountered anyone putting down the "new" MINI, although I am sure there are some of those people out there in the Classic community. That's their problem, cuz, as Chuck said, we are ALL Minis/MINIs.

I loves all Mini/MINI's... =)
I've been to a couple of MME, but that was before there was even a New MINI. Drove my 2 stroke Saab 96 to one in Dayton & my MG to the another in Columbus. Everyone was friendly & enjoyed my cars.
FWIW in the 4 years I've owned my MINI I've only had one grouch complain, no not you Jeff.
So lets not worry about the isolated grouch. Lets all enjoy our Mini/MINI's & share the love in 2010 at MME.

Registration Time!
Saw a good bunch of you yesterday at Quaker Steak and Lube. I will take a moment here to remind everyone that if you register before June 15th, you will be entered into a drawing for two free nights at the meet hotel -- Holiday Inn in Fairborn -- just off I-675 adjacent to the Fairfield Commons Mall. It is going to be one heck of a good time!

I'm having second thoughts after seeing the $110 entrance fee. I know there's a lower price for just the social stuff, all I really wanted to do was come out and check out the cars in the show, any vendors, and maybe run the rally. I live in Dayton so I can take a more casual approach to the whole thing. Maybe I'll just crash the Young's cruise =).
I really wish there was more info on the website.

We plan on stopping by one of the days just to see all the MINI's and maybe crashing the Young's cruise.
From what I understand there was about three big sponsors that said they would pay a lot of money to keep the registration low but in april MME had not received any thing and now MME can't get a hold of them. MME is working hard to make this a great event and understand cost is a issue.

Wait a minute...
