Amish lunch drive 4-18-09
Today I got my first speeding ticket in over 2 years on I-70 (I've had other tickets for speed related issues, but no actual speeding tickets with a fine only) I was going with the flow, but the ticket is for doing 83 in 65. I guess I have to drive more cautious on this weekend's ride and hide in the middle of the pack.
Glad to see that mother nature is being nice to us and giving us perfect weather. Also glad to see all the Minis going.

Sorry you got nailed by the tax collector. Speed tax sucks.
I don't want to be a Richard, but I would expect everyone who is coming along to be a good safe driver. We are going to be on some roads that see more horse & buggies than cars. Drive accordingly.

Ouch, sorry to hear that Cooper.
Even worse that you weren't intentionally going fast.
+1 for watching for Horse and Buggies... they tend to pop up around the dips in the hills and curves, and even at normal speed limits, you catch up to them QUICK!
New sig IMGRFX?? Either way, I like it!

Nice to see another Clubbie joining the fun!
Clubbies unite!
Hey Crashton, We are definitely joining in, but going to meet you all at lunch and maybe ride with you for a little while afterwords. Glad I'm not the only Clubbie! Can't wait to meet everyone.

The BRM group is meeting at the Football (not soccer) hall of fame and heading for lunch.
It looks like
Steve
Kim and Spawn
Mark and I (only one mini coming) Kurt is coming too.
and the Beast.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow

Wow! It's gonna be packed! See everyone in Bright 'n Early (and some Bright'n Noony
)
We plan on being there around 8:30... don't leave without us, or at least not without leaving a map behind !

His MINI started making some ominous noises before Walnut Creek. From there it got worse. By the time we were in Millersburg it was really banging. Rod or main bearings, most likely both.
His MINI rode the flatbed back to Columbus.

Despite the minor setback (it looks like I will be needing to build a new engine & need a new clutch), I had a great time today. Thank you so much Barbara, and thanks to everyone else for sticking around in the hot sun at Advance Auto Parts for almost 2 hours; and thank you Robb and Angie for driving me home in your new Clubman. I'm working on uploading a few pictures from today.
...Maybe I shouldn't have added that 2% crank pulley

GREAT drive Chuck! Despite us missing the "driveway" road (which, had we paid attention, wouldn't have happened...
), we couldn't have asked for a better day and roads
I'm working on some photos we snapped throughout the day... we'll see if any are worth anything.
Not a problem Cooper! Hope everything works out with your engine.

Have you checked to see if the noise is just the crank pulley coming loose?

A great day with great folks.... =)
Hey Ben it was pretty funny when you left for home & almost all of the MINI's tailed you out of there lickety split.
I never realized that both our cars looked so much alike until that moment.
The folks who used their routes turned right onto TWP 370.
I do have to say that you guys who didn't were very resourceful. Everyone found Walnut Creek in short order. Must have been the chocolate calling.
Don't feel too bad. The guy & his honey that laid out the drive missed a turn while staring at horses.
Barbara & I are glad so many folks could come along. Nice to have folks all the way from the Great White North. BRM MINI's are cool folks.
It was a glorious day & we really enjoyed seeing all of your MINI's running all over hill & dale. I think the locals enjoyed our company too. For you folks who couldn't make it, rats we missed you guys. Hope you can make it next time.
Saturday May 16 I'm going down to Washington Courthouse to see the vintage dirt cars run at the fairgrounds. If anyone wants to come along let me know & I'll do a drive for us.
