Amish drive on Saturday
HI Chuck -
I'm new to this, although I have been enjoying my mini since 2006. But I hear the weather should be nice this weekend so I'd like to try and make the drive on Saturday. What time do I need to be in New Albany to leave? And if there is a stop for lunch before returning what is the total timeframe on the drive? Just a ballpark so I can prepare my 6 year old son who will be with me accordingly.
Many Thanks-
Sharon

Itinerary...
Hello Sharon,
Nice to here from you. We plan on leaving Tim Horton's in New Albany by 9:00-9:30. From there we will wind around the back roads to Charm where we will eat lunch at 12:00. Depending on the time we will go to the Guggisberg cheese shop either before or after lunch. From there we will wind our way to Walnutcreek & stop at Coblentz Chocolates. Then it's off to Trail & then the Wendell August Forge. From there we head to Mt Hope & back south. I'd guess we'd be done by 5:00. That depends on how much time is spent sightseeing.
See you Saturday.
PS: Welcome to NAM & the Mid Ohio motoring group!

Actually, since we need to gather some road apples for Mark, we should probably fill an 'un-suspecting' R53 to make sure we don't harvest more than our fair share!

Hello group! I'm checking out this thread thinking I may drop down to Charm and meet up with y'all for lunch and a little of the drive. Can you PM me the restaurant name or address? Or do I park in the center of Charm at Noon and wait for the parade to arrive?
All depends if I can replace a stretched serpentine belt Friday afternoon. Seems likely.

I'm in...
Sorry I hadn't confirmed sooner. I'm a newbie. I am the infamous "Kevin and his clubby." My wife won't be able to join, but we hope to both be a part of future outings. Oh, and technically the clubby is hers...
Welcome aboard Kevin! Before this thread gets too confusing, I should note that Chuck calls me Jason and a different Ben may soon be called Jason at which point I may be know as Earl or Mingus depending on which of my hands gets the short straw.
Thanks Ben. Really looking forward to Saturday...looks like we're going to have a great day. I'm also excited about the cheese: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3KBuQHHKx0

New tires how cool is that? What did you end up getting?
I hope it was some of these. Just what the Dr ordered for Amish road debris. They are called Gorilla Siverback tires, no kidding.
Earl & Mingus run them on their mud bogger.
