Dublin St. Paddy's Day parade?
Irish Racing Green... for the day.
Hey, Allen's mirror covers are orange!!!
I'm having green scarves made for the Welsh Corgis that will be riding along. Now to dog-proof the back end....
And I've seen some green and white boas that might be good on the roof racks.
So many possibilities!

No Pep Pepper White.
Better Racing Green.
BRG is back under my own roof as of today [and the Outback is, well... out... side.]
She started right up. All looks good. AND, she still has new car smell.
Pretty amazing for an 03.

I won't have my MINI yet
...
My car is currently scheduled on the ship COURAGE previously it was on the PATRIOT... the MINI was ordered on 2/11 Built 2/19... much to my surprise it was scheduled to load on the PATRIOT on that day... it missed the boat.
A check here http://www.port-of-charleston.com/vessel_schedule.asp tells me that COURAGE left Port Charleston on 2/22. A check here http://www.dbh.de/index.php?id=151&L... 080330&menu=% shows me that a new Voyage initiates from BREMERHAVEN on 3/6 for COURAGE here http://www.dbh.de/index.php?id=151&L...080326&menu=VC shows her in SOUTHAMPTON on 3/10 where I hope to see my Status change to "In Transit." An additional check here http://www.dbh.de/index.php?id=151&L... 080330&menu=% tells me that my car should be in CHARLESTON on 3/22.
If this works out it appears that from order to landing on the shores of the USA... it was 6 weeks. I'm assuming two additional weeks to actually get the car delivered to me here in Ohio... That would get the car here in the first full week of April.
Obviously the biggest delay getting my MINI is waiting on a ship from 2/19 till 3/10, nearly three weeks on the dock. I've read during all this that WWL is building newer bigger ships, 8000 car capacity, while a couple of those are already in the system the COURAGE only hold 5,900. Perhaps this effort will speed up future customer's deliveries.
All in all it's still amazing to me that one can have a car custom build in another country and delivered, as ordered, practually to your front door six or eight weeks later... we live in wonderful times!!
Bottom-line as far as me and the parade... I missed the boat and the float!

Terry, if you want to be in the parade, I may need a second driver for MY car. If it's not raining, I'll being both my classic and my '05 cabrio to the parade. As Kara leads our dog and wagon at the head of the group, and my daughter does not yet have a license, I'll need someone to drive the cab. If you're OK driving in the cold with the top down (the heated seats really help, plus I have an electric lap blanket for the cig lighter), you could drive the cabrio... Yes? No?
Carol makes a car thing
Look guys. I did a MOD!!! (ha)
I am preparing for the parade and want the corgis in the MINI. I went to Big Lots and bought a couple rolls of replacement carpet -- very easy to cut and a 3x6 roll was $7. So I made it in two pieces. Got a couple small bungies to hook the upright piece to the headrests and protect the back of the seats. I'm hoping it will be a hair magnet and I can just whip it out and sweep it off. Probably won't be that easy but it will help with clean up.
As you can see, the kids like it.

You need some duck tape...... =)
Hey way to go Carol!!!
Every great mod needs some duck tape on it somewhere.

One word of caution, make sure the backing of the carpet doesn't scratch your MINI's plastic interior bits.
Also make sure Matt's Clydesdale doesn't eat your Corgi's.

The back is just like hard felt. Really soft, but not as soft as the front side of it. And much better than dog toenails. Hey... that's it. I'll get them little green booties!! And, if I duck tape them down, there would really be a lot less hair.
I saw a pic of Matt's Clydesdale. My two can herd him up in no time!

So, I am a bit confused...but then, I am old [something about "Silverbacks!"]. Breakfast on the 15th sounds like 8:30 am at Bob Evans in Dublin for some but then perhaps others are meeting at 8:30 am at Tim Horton's per the usual schedule. Is this accurate? If Horton's is still on does that mean that Aaron will be open afterward?
Green donuts FTW =)
Minipappa I believe the Tim Horton's in Nalbany will be at the 8:30 time. That is for LAME silverbacks. I also believe Aaron will be open for business.
I also believe we could get green donuts.

We're confirmed for the parade, so I was HOPING that we could move the location of Mini Morning to Bob Evans in Dublin in March, but obviously some club members will just go straight to new Albany and skip Dublin altogether - that's fine.
Those that want to meet in Dublin: the Bob Evans is just across the street from MAG. At 8:30, parking;s not bad and we should be able to get tables - we'll go early and push a few together and warn the staff.
Those that then wish to participate in the parade can drive over to the assembly point across the street at 10:00. Those that just want to watch the parade can find a good spot on the route - at 10:00 there should still be plenty of spots and parking along the Kroger parking lot part of the route. Those that want to do neither of these things can drive over to Outmotoring and shop.
I'd hoped that Aaron and the entire club would join us in the morning for coffee and breakfast (like we did last month for the Clubman event at MAG), and then we'd just hang out and chat and decorate the cars (weather permitting) before the start of the parade. Kara amd I will get white and green baloons and any other inexpensive shamrock-themed stuff we can find. Outmotoring sponsored the banner last year (their logo's on it) so it would be good to have them there, but it's not NECESSARY of course.
Sounds like "Plan B" is that Chuck and Mark will simply go to Tim Horton's in New Albany at 8:30 instead, and will then just bop over to Outmotoring -anyone that wishes can do that, too.
Hope to see plenty of people in Dublin on the 15th! Pray for sunshine!

"Plan B" is watching the paint dry in Barbara's new office.
You guys can come over too. We'd love to see you.
We could have a parade through the drive thru. You can even lead.
Well, as Chuck already is aware, I am OUT for any participation in the parade, for sure, now. Last night, during the ice storm here in Piqua, a tree fell into my Royal Grey MINI and me as we were driving to pick up my wife from work. The passenger side is pretty crunched, as is the roof trim on the passenger side. Other than that, we were pretty fortunate...had we been in the path a second earlier, this driver would have been speared, for sure. It was THAT close to total disaster.
