Hello all
I have just a little over two weeks before I have to RSVP with final numbers for breakfast and lunch, so please RSVP! We are going to have some fun stuff to giveaway, and everyone will get a little booklet explaining the things you are going to see on the route.
Some teasers and information from AC and Paddy, who ran the route on Sunday:
1. 10% of the route has some loose gravel/stone and leftover salt/debris from the winter. Truly a backroad.
2. There are three REALLY good places for "catching air" for those who want to. For those with lowered cars, this might not be a very good idea.........
3. It is a LONG RUN. Therefore, the "after lunch" portion will be optional, lunch is a good place for people who can't stay out all day to break off. However, the after lunch portion is "very special."
4. You'll need to watch out for:
Deer
Tractors
Stray cows
MINI-adults (aka children)
Your speed - there are areas where you can get into trouble quickly. Watch out, but have fun!
5. There are one lane underpasses - -please honk! Lights on please!
6. Potty Breaks. We'll have one before the route starts at Perkins or in the Mall. The first planned stop has only two porta-potties and then Harper's Ferry. Plan your potty breaks!
Should be a great tune up for those going to the Dragon!
Come along!
