WTB: 2005 Mini S
You'd be best off buying from an out-of-state dealer. Many dealers in other parts of the country have cars on the lot and some of them might even DISCOUNT them just a tiny bit.
I was at Hank Aaron MINI outside of Atlanta a couple weeks ago and the salesman told me he could make me a deal on anything on the lot.
Personally, I like Classic MINI in Mentor Ohio and am buying our new Cooper from them even though there are many dealers closer, they treat their customers so well and don't add a bunch of silly add-ons to the final price.

I agree go out of state
bought mine in Salt Lake City and drove it home to Los Angeles.
Mini of Murray is straight up / ask for Debbie Linge / Never met her before the sale / honest and comes thru for you ...
(Last fall I had to wait 4 months however fyi) but car was made to my specifications...
savings on dealer premiums being charge at that time paid my California state taxes....
Good luck,

Call Aka DeMesa at Mini of the Woodlands in Houston, TX (936) 271-2904. He found mine unsold in production [equipped just as I wanted it] and had it diverted to Houston. I made an adventure of it and drove all the 2-lane backroads through TX, NM and AZ. Both experiences highly recommended.
There's a used car dealer in San Diego (Miramar Rd to be exact) who ALWAYS has a couple MINI's on the lot. It's called Flamingo Motors. I have no affiliation with them and have never spoken to anyone there, I just pass the place everyday going to and from work.
