This car is a beauty!! It has been in two different calanders.

Good luck with that. A 2005 MCS with those specs goes for $25k brand new with the destination charge. Having bought it second hand yourself, you wouldn't even have had to pay that much. Now almost 4 years later, do you think your asking price is even remotely reasonable, especially for a first run model with scuffed wheels, stone chips and already two owners?! I think you and other owners like you have let Mini's high resale value hype go to your heads. Good resale means 60% rather than the average 40%. You are asking nearly 90%. Even Intellichoice who came up with those numbers, estimates resale values will be around $16k after 3.5 years (extrapolated) and that's for one with good cosmetic condition.

When not to open your mouth?? When you are wrong!

Move along little doggie! I didn't ask for your 2 cents and you still give me 10 cents of your opinion?!!

You are wrong with your top number! So that makes everything wrong. As in you are wrong.

Since it looks like you know nothing of MINIs my Mini configured as an 05 is 27920 with aero kit painted. Wheel arches......add atleast 400.

So rerun your numbers and keep them to yourself.

what are you talking about that is a decent price for a mini configured like that. Take a look at auto trader. Good like with the sale, you should sell it quick.

The way I see it, guys, both of you are out of line. Just because a person has an opinion doesn't have anything to do with facts. We all have opinions some of which aren't based on a single thought...we just have them.

Your car could bring what your asking more or less based on how bad someone wants the car and where in the country it is located. In CA God knows what anything will sell for. Here in GA that car would sell for $Ks less.

When you put something out there like an opinion or whatever it is, like the car, you have to assume reactions of others can be both positive and negative.

Opinions, just like...we all got'em.

Out of line?? your out of line!

This is the marketplace. If you don't want to buy it move along. The way I see it you just said nothing. Just because someone has an opinion, doesn't mean they should shoot there mouths off. Especially, when all the facts they use to base there opinions and pass judgement on people are wrong.

So let's just say you are out of line! So move along and mind your own business!

It's in the correct price range this part of the country. So for those looking here in norcal it would seem to be a good price. The MINI is in the top ten list of cars with the highest residual values. And it's hard to buy a new one at MSRP without a long wait or paying a premium over MSRP.

The poster questioning the pricing might be from a different part of the country or is a little disappointed he's not able to purchase a used one in his desired price range.

Travelkids,

Let me see if I understand where you are coming from. You think you have a right to an opinion and no one else does. If you read what I said, I was trying to put in perspective what the both of you were saying. And that you both had a right to say what you wanted. Facts never has to get in the way of an opinion. You don't have to be right to be able to have an opinion. Your opinion may not be right but you still have one.

As far as moving on and staying out of your business, I believe I have just as much right to express myself as you do, son. I am a member of this site just as you probably are. And when I want to express my opinion I'll do so, period. I paid my dues in service to my country so we both could expresss our opinions. And I don't need a thank you from you for doing so.

Let me explain to you something that I think you don't understand. If you are going to express an opinion and pass judgement on another person and then list facts to back up that opinion as "El" did, you better have those facts stated correctly. So the facts matter in his opinion in this case.

For you. That is where some people have it wrong. Just because we live in America, you may have great freedoms, however, you shouldn't abuse them by sticking your nose in other peoples business and shooting your mouth off!

As far as I am concerned, "el" shouldn't have given his opinion since it was based on incorrect facts. And you should not have given your opinion, because you were wrong on stating that he can say what ever he wants, doesn't matter if he is right or wrong. Wrong! If you are going to shoot your mouth off, you better try to be right!

Now move along "Son" and go put your nose in someone else's business as I am sure you do quite a bit!

Thanks for wasting some of my time.

Now let me tell you where you are out of line.

nice attitude to take when trying to sell a car

personally ... "thanks for your opinion, will hope for the best with my sale" would have gotten you a lot further on this board

Thanks for your opinion, too! It helps out!

As you should probably be able to tell, I am not too worried about selling the car, seem more interested in telling nosey people like you to move along!!

The unsolicited opinions of people that have nothing better to do!!!??!

What a bunch of asshats you guys are.

Commenting on a person's asking price is ALWAYS out of line. Especially from a noob with four posts.

I agree 100%, if you don't like the car or the price, move along unless there is something really fishy or something, but let the guy sell his car at whatever price he thinks its OK. Hate those guys, it happened to me when I was selling my motorcycle and this uninvited guests that tell you that you are nuts for your asking price, etc, etc. At the end it sold at my asking price but I wonder how many people got spoocked or something by those smart a#@ comments.

Live and let live

I agree also a 100% but I guess that's a problem the potential buyer will have to deal with and if he feels the guy is a complete a$$h@l3, he can send him to kiss...whatever.
