Split Up and Split Cost of JCW Upgrade Kit

This concept originated with someone else in another thread found in the Beneath the Bonnet forum, but it is a great idea. I want to purchase a JCW intake at a reasonable price so the idea is to buy and then split up the JCW Upgrade kit - intake for me and the injectors for you.

The JCW Upgrade package at $560 is not much more expensive than the Intake alone which is $425. The injectors alone are $525 - either that or $520, there seems to be some dispute on the real price

So is anyone interested in buying the JCW Package injectors? Splitting the cost based on the same ratio as the retail prices of the individual components would be a good deal for both even if the upgrade is purchased at list.

You would end would end up getting the injectors for $305 and I, in effect, would be buying the Intake at $255.

Let me know if you are interested.

Split JCW upgrade for injectors?

I'll split for the injector part of the JCW upgrade kit. If anyone wants the intake at a discount I'll by the kit and keep the injectors (I've got an RDR intake that I love). We can do PayPal for the intake, 50%/50%.

Me too!

BUT - I thought that you can't get the upgrade unless you already have a JCW car ...it was designed to boost the HP from 200 to 210...

If I am wrong about this, or if anyone already has a JCW and wants just the injectors, please PM me, I'd LOVE to have a JCW airbox!!!

The kit has a MINI part number, so they should sell it to anyone. I bought mine from Sterling and had it shipped to Texas. I had my local dealer install it and sign the paperwork. Remember that the kit also includes the dealer upgrade of the software, so whoever ends up with the injectors will need MTH or something to tell the computer that the injectors are there . . .

Splitting up the kit is a good idea, the parts are good but they are expensive . . .

For those considering this, Sterling seems to offer the best price around I think it was around $480. and they usually ship out anything over $100 for free.

Uncke John,

Did you have the JCW package on your car when you ordered the airbox & injectors and at the time the dealer fitted them? Or was it a non-JCW car?

Classic MINI sells the kit for substantially less than any other place I've seen. 20% off stealer prices. That said, I'd be willing to split the cost 50/50 with someone who wants a JCW intake.

I want JCW injectors. Anyone want a JCW intake? PM me!

Marty

It's a JCW car. I had the original JCW installed when new at Moritz in TX. When I had the chance to buy the upgrade at a discount, I first checked with my Moritz service guy and he had no problem selling me the labor to install the kit from Virginia.
