Need help with "WORKS S" value...

I need to clean out the garage and that means something must go! I guess I'm going to have to sell my 2003 MCS (only 9500 miles) but really know it's value.

Does anyone have a suggestion???

I know it'll a be a very sad day!

But with a SUV, Jag, 2 Racecars, MTBs, etc., it's overflowing!!! It really is a GREAT toy, but I only drive it a couple of times a month. It's just sitting there going to waste! Maybe it'll make someone else's life's dream come true!

Remember, if you don't drive it, it's just a big coffee table!

Depending on mileage, with your options, it should be worth about $22k without the Works kit. I'd say the value of the kit will be in the eye of the beholder and should range from $0 to $6000.

Actually, the works kit and that low milage (barely out of break-in really) both de-value it. I'll give you $2,000, cash money!

I would say it is closer to $24,000 + $4,000 for the works kit. This is a very low mileage unit and if it hasn't been beaten on you should be okay. I sold my 2003 with 27K miles for $22,500 with similiar options, so I think you should easily get that much for it.

If not the "Church of the Blessed Smokey" has a tax ID number and is a 501 qualified organization.

(I like to wear 501's)

You could donate it to the AMVIV 2005 (a percentage of profits will go to charity) as a raffle prize or something.

The donation line was sarcasm, I just didn't want you to feel guilty if I did give it to you!

I would say you could get much more than 22K. Put it on Ebay if you are very serious. I'd put it in the high twentys.

Figure up what you have in the car. Say for example I have a little over $30K in mine and I will ask $28K. If the car is real clean, I'd say a couple grand less than what you have in it.

Considering it's closer to 38 - 40K invested, that might be a little over the market?

I'm happy if I get back 50% of the original cost of aftermarket parts. If they are installed on the car, it could be considerably lower than that. It looks like the JCW MCS that have been sold on eBay have topped out at $22k-$23k, but some of those weren't actually sold since they didn't meet the reserve.

Well, for 22K - 23K, I would donate it! The Mini Dealer said they would be interested if I would consider 24K. And that was outright , not even a trade-in! There are used JCW MCSs on Mini lots here for mid 30Ks!
