This is a public apology to Jenni who apparently was somewhat upset with me.
Sorry.

Hey Folks, sorry for the miscommunication on this thread.

I was initially trying to gather ten people so Ian could finish a run on the harnesses he had....

That deal is done. Everybody interested in this should contact Ian directly at the email he posted above. I'm not surprised at all the interest--I want one too

My circuit from Ian just arrived, yay! I was going to go to a hockey game tonight, but I think I'll be spending quality time in my garage instead!

I said the same thing, however, my wife's 2004 Lexus ES330 does have auto up and I can not stop the auto up win dow on the driver's side (have not tried the other side) with both hands.

This is America, don't forget. If there is money to be made at someone else's expense, chances are there is a lawyer who will be after their percentage. After all, smokers are constantly winning lawsuits by doing something that they know will kill them.

That said, I am interrested in the auto up as well, although I think I will wait a couple of months to see how the people with them find their reliability/use.

Got mine in and installed it. Works great! I love it! How did I survive without it?

I just received my auto-up circuit from Ian. Installed it last night without too much difficulty. It works exactly as advertised.
Thanks Ian.

Ian,

I'll be doing mine this weekend and will post the results. I've stripped down the garage door opener to the circuit board and have jumpered the switch in preparation for the GDO flying lead.

Thanks for the FAST shipment!

I got my Windows-UP/Track DSC board installed a couple of days ago.

It is so nice! Just the way BMW should have designed it.

They will probably offer it as a $500 option on the '05 JCW models.

Thanks again Ian! You are the G-word squared.

AMPR and anyone else who is interested,

I got my circuit last week and installed it on Monday. I LOVE IT!!

The install is a breeze, even for a mechanical genius like myself. I went ahead and took out the downtubes and removed the switch panel so it would be easier to see what I was doing.

The only tool I needed was a Torx20. My 04 MCS uses the same size, even for where others said they had Torx40s to loosen the dash trim.

Look at Ian's site for instructions, it is as easy as it looks (or moreso).

If you have any questions about the install, please ask and I will try to answer (not the garage door though, I don't have that).

email me directly if you want, johnlaf@aol.com

Cheers!

Correct me, someone, if I am mistaken. Isn't this something the MINI could do without any kit if MINI was more receptive to allowing customers to get the programming they want on these switches?

Paul,
In non-US countries, the driver window has auto-up available. Since the car is available in left and right hand drive countries, the car *can* do auto-up on both windows, but you can't get it.
Unlike the rear fogs, which we could argue strongly as a safety feature, there are no grounds to argue the auto-up.

Dan,
You have email.

Ian,

I guess the, "I am the customer and I want it." Isn't good enough for MINI. I guess I'll have to hold them hostage. I 'm going to put my head in my sunroof and push the auto close unless I get the auto up on my windows. My wofe has an excellent lawyer and thank you from protecting me from myself. Oh and could you install a 85 mph speed limiter as some sharp lawyer will sue you for making fast cars and marketing them as such.....

DEEP BREATH......Never mind.

Paul
