>>Is there an automatic safety stop on the window circuit if the window hits an obstruction? If there is, great. If not, I hope you've got a lot of insurance backing you, as you're opening the door to a major liability claim.
>>
>>You know, as sure as the sun rises, that some schmuck somewhere is going to get their__________ (your choice of appendages) in the way of the window coming up. If there's any damage done, it's going to come back on you.
>>
>>Not trying to instigate anything here....just bringing up a point.

VW has auto-up as a factory setting. Don't think there's any liability here. If they can't feel the window going up in time, they're stupid!

So, it works with the switch inside, does it work with the remote?

Being able to just hold down the lock button on my remote and roll up the windows is really why I would want one.

OK, here's the update--

I need ten more people to express "ready to buy-will pay NOW already"...
I hope that this amount of interest already has Ian getting ready to make a second run of these, but for ten people I think we'll have ours shortly.

I appreciate all the replies on this, and I PM'd the first ten people who responded. I've heard back from 2 of them.

I want to give everyone a reasonable amount of time to reply, but I'm anxious to get going on this! So if I don't hear back in 24 hours, I'll keep going till I do.

Once we get this batch done, I bet Ian will be ready to market his harness on a bigger scale. I'll keep ya posted! Thanks, Jenni

bpmini,
Such a combination can be created - but it requires the fully populated circuit at a cost of $74.14! And some more programming ...

No spare toggle switch needed.
If you have one and want the circuit to use it, that is different ... I shipped one today that controls the garage door opener from the (unused) rear fog toggle, and one of my original prototypes allows power to a radar detector to be turned on/off using the rear fog toggle.

If you want to fill the space, you can order a full toggle switch panel, or sometimes people sell the individual toggles from their old panel when they upgrade ...

wow, i feel like an idiot b/c i seem to be the only person that does not fully understand how this works. is there a page that in detail describes this (not just the installation of it - i saw that, doesn't answer operation questions).

otherwise, i think i would be interested in the one-touch up and garage opener.

argh, how does this WORK????

on my 10/03 build mcs '04 it states on pg. 30 ( of the downloaded manual ; pg.28 otherwise) that auto up will work only on the drivers side window and ONLY if the engine is runniing....so it seems at least on this make & model the auto up is needed on the passsenger window or a single throw for both windows whch maybe what this harness does or could be capable of

I want to thank Jenni for running this thread. However to simplify my life I can only deal with people who direct-email me (IanCull at USA.net).
When someone new contacts me with firm interest, I add their email to a list which determines order priority.

Currently I am playing a short "waiting game" ... I have shipped out over 10 circuits this last week and I would *love* to have some positive feedback from people that they received and installed the circuit and it worked as "advertised" - also some indication of installation difficulty. What I think is not too difficult might be impossible for others!

So, you are welcome to contact Jenni or me if you are interested. Hopefully I (and then you all) will hear feedback soon, which will go onto the original MINI circuit web page

Thank you.

PS:
Garage door opener versions are tricky unless you have a nice simple 9V battery powered opener, with a flying lead type of connector ... soldering might be required. Be sure to understand before considering an order.

Yeah, I agree they're stupid. But stupid people can win lawsuits, too!! Just ask that women who got thousands of dollars off McDonald's after sticking a hot coffee between her legs and then spilling it. Pretty stupid, huh? But she's better off financially now than most everyone on this board!
