Description:
This car has been amazing, but I just have too many cars/projects, and it’s time to let this thing go to someone else who will enjoy it just as much as I have. The car is very low mileage for the year, with roughly 85,000 miles. I’ve had the car listed on other medias for a bit, but nobody seems to understand what these cars are really about. I want this car to go to another Mini enthusiasts. I’ve had far too many people message me who aren’t mechanically inclined, just looking to get into a commuter that’s good on gas… they want a Corolla, not an R53… especially not this R53.
This car was always a summer car for me and the previous owners. The car has ZERO rust. I’ve done heaps of preventative maintenance, and while I was in there I’ve improved a few things. Most of which are disclosed in the last two photos.
The car has had all of its suspension bushings and ball joints replaced. Most of which are now polyurethane. It is also on adjustable HSD coilovers, with a larger rear sway bar, and adjustable rear lower control arms. It has a full aftermarket exhaust system, but it still has a catalytic converter, and is by no means obnoxious. The car passes NY state inspection. All of the work was done under the guidance/supervision of a certified MINI tech. This includes the supercharger service, oil filter housing gasket, oil pan gasket, crank sensor gasket, new water pump, new thermostat, an Ati super damper crank pulley, a %15 supercharger reduction pulley, larger injectors to accommodate an even smaller pulley if desired (with a Detroit tuned ecu tune), new cooling hoses and plastic connectors, an intercooler diverter and new intercooler boots, and so so much more that’s listed in the final two images as aforementioned.
This car is by no means perfect like any 23 year old car, and it does have a few very minor quirks as all R53s do:
-Remote locking doesn’t work
-Fuel gauge occasionally gives improper reading (parts included)
-Airbag light is on because of aftermarket steering wheel and seats (airbag resistors installed but apparently early cars will still throw a code)
-As the tires are quite aggressive they wear quickly and may need replaced soon
but for a 23 year old vehicle the paint is fantastic, with only the occasional light scratch and some faded clear on the spoiler.
Although I’ve had fun driving this car spiritedly, it’s always been my baby, and I’ve never beat on it. The interior is in fantastic condition with many new trim pieces, a fresh headliner, a Momo montecarlo wheel with an OMP hub, and two sparco seats on sparco brackets and sliders. The factory lapis blue rear seat will be included with the car, along with the custom easily removable carpeted seat delete panels. These box frame panels can be pulled out in a matter of seconds to save weight before track driving/autocross events. On the street they make the cargo space VERY usable. The car comes with many spare parts including an almost like new cylinder head, spare axles, and other miscellaneous parts. All fluids in the car were immediately changed upon my purchase of the vehicle roughly four years (and 10k miles) ago. The oil has been changed with liqui moly every 2,500 miles (yearly). The genuine mini coolant is fresh, the MTF only has 10k miles on it, and the brake fluid is about a year old.
