2006 JCW GP1 #1456. Purchased from MINI specialist in 2022. Car has been maintained and serviced at local Mini dealer. All service is up to date including oil change, coolant and brake flush, replace both O2 sensors, air and cabin filter, wiper blades, spark plugs and crank sensor O-ring. New OEM battery, wheels and tires installed along with intake power steering line. F&R brake pads and rotors replaced less than 500 miles ago. Would like to see this GP go to a fellow enthusiast to enjoy it as much as I have.
Good luck, thats pretty sweet!

Mr. Meister, might you take some time to describe any history on the car that you know of, regarding the "MINI specialist" you bought it from a few years ago? Was it always a NJ car? Any evidence of a non-garaged life? When you said you replaced the tires, you also said you installed the wheels as well? But they certainly look like correct OEM GP1 wheels, so I'm curious on that statement.
In short, I would be looking for a highly original GP1 with near perfect cosmetics when it comes to original paint and bodywork (and GP1 specific interior bits)... I have no issues with *anything* being problematic on the mechanical side, as I enjoy those type of repairs/refreshing myself (although you've done some of that already!). It's the rare GP1 parts and paint that I most concerned with being in the best reasonable condition for 20 years and 33K miles.
Aside from the M7 tower braces, are there any other modifications on this one? I see also that somebody painted the fender arches, which I normally don't like, but this works *extremely* well here! Almost as if Bertone did it themselves! Regardless, that should be changeable back to stock with standard black arches (which I have already).
I appreciate your time, and thank you for posting the car here on NAM!

Chamberlin1, Thank you for your interest and questions regarding the GP. I had previously owned 2 JCW Minis (2009 and 2013) and was looking for a GP1. I purchased the car from Crooked River Garage in Akron, OH. in 2022. The GP was originally a Cali car and moved through several states before my purchase. I believe the car was offered on BaT about 10 years ago. The car has been garaged and covered during my ownership.
Yes, I purchased 4 new OEM wheels and center caps from ECS (receipt available). Wheels were mounted and balanced on Yokohama Advan V701 summer tires in August 2022. The original rims will come with the car.
The paint presents well for its age. There are the usual rock chips noted on the front bumper cover and leading edge of the hood. There are a couple of minor dings near the upper right rear quarter panel. A new OEM front spoiler will come with the car. Interior wise, a previous owner added LED bulbs, although the rear hatch light is missing. Along with the pictured Mini rubber floor mats, I also have a set of rare checkered front floor mats.
Aside from the M7 front strut tower supports, I added an OEM Mini sport antenna and rear fog light. A previous owner added a Hotchkiss adjustable rear sway bar, which I retained. I agree, that the body-colored paint on the wheel arches and lower aero cladding looks great.
Please let me know if you have any further questions or requests.

Appreciate the detailed response Meister- Buying 4 new wheels was a great investment for the car (assuming the originals were curbed etc.). Very nice to include the original wheels too (in case you wanted to take it on a road trip vs. Cars N Coffee). I saw the checkered JCW floor mats in the pictures from a few years ago... very cool and highly desirable!
I'm familiar with Crooked River, they wanted to buy my factory JCW Checkmate a while back (so they could resell it!). I am in the process of restoring that car this year, but can't stop thinking about getting a GP1, after seven other R53 examples over the years (three in the stable currently).
I'll keep an eye on this one and let you know if any other questions come up. I'm in the process of listing one of my other JCWs within the week, so that's my first step to GP-land. Cheers!

Likewise, hadn't seen that auction site -- primarily but not exclusively P-cars..
