The genuine Mini Gen 1 armrest (pictured below) requires an adapter plate (also pictured below) for early cars. I purchased the armrest used and the adapter plate is not included. If you installed the armrest, didn't need the adapter, and are willing to part with it, please send a PM. Thanks.

I didn't. When you install it in an earlier model, there is a gap at the back so i just used thru bolts and attached it to the black center console part first then I bolted it to the car. I made my initial template with a piece of Cardboard then cut a piece out with my a hand saw.

That's a picture of the gap behind it and you can see the original studs that are on the body. Lots of room

And that's the bracket I made. it's not a looker but it works great
