Yes! 44 miles-no typo. This MINI was the first ordered from the USA way back in early 2002. It was specced by a MINI salesman who worked at a dealership in Connecticut, and was delivered from the dealership via enclosed trailer while covered in a cashmere cover. It has been maintained in a climate controlled garage with a negative air pressure system to ensure that no dust settles on the car. It is given a full body massage with heated carnauba wax monthly. Fluids are changed annually, and the car is moved 1 inch daily to prevent flat spotting on the tires. More pictures coming, but this piece of MINI history can be yours for less than $50K!
First mini in the US; very neatl. It might do well on Bring A Trailer. Btw, I thought the scenery felt familiar! I'm originally from the Chatham/Valatie area. Good luck with the sale

Wow! That's nuts. First mini in the US and lowest milage I've ever seen; very cool. It might do well on Bring A Trailer. Btw, I thought the scenery felt familiar! I'm originally from the Chatham/Valatie area. Good luck with the sale and happy motoring
Absolutely not the first Mini in the US. Also, a Carfax report, run using the VIN number that the OP supplied above, shows that the car failed an emissions inspection in New York in May 2022 . . with 62,556 miles on the clock.
I was just thinking there’s definitely some hidden double digit 1st gens out there after reading the reply of the 2k mile R53 possibly being the lowest mile R53 around. Then this thread pops up… kind of like when your talking with someone about a product and the ads start appearing on your social media.
Looking forward to the pics and learning more about the car. Is it now yours, or are you selling it for the original owner? Also, what is the piece on the front lip and what wheels are those?
edit: It may have flown over my head because I didn’t see any of the posts after the second one, but I deal with some extreme car collectors and the original story was definitely a possibility in my experience.
