JCW Suspension on an '02?

My question is as follows:

Will a the JCW suspension fit properly on a 5/02 build MCS? Morristown's Website only has this kit fitting 2003-2006 models, but I was under the impression that the shock change took place sometime early in 02. Is it possible that this kit will fit some '02s (mine, for instance) but not all of them? Any help would be appreciated.

Happy Motoring!

OK, so it looks like MINI changed the dampers in 3/02, meaning my 5/02 build should have the same dampers as any other 02+ Mini. I understand that dealers use the VIN to match the JCW suspension to the car. Assuming this is true, will I have any problems getting the dealer to order a JCW suspension for an 02?

I don't see many ppl jumping in to help you here so here is what I think.

They put the JCW suspension on my 04, the first one my dealer did. They couldnt get it aligned. Took the car to another dealer, neither could they. Finally, they got it right after the Regional MINI rep took a look at it but it was an aggravation with all the trips to different dealers.

Once it settled it, it was great ... just a pain getting it right

TALK to your dealer parts dept. If the order a part that is not for you car, its on their head. The springs are specific to VINs so they MUST know.

Best of luck!

This was my ultimate plan, but I figured a bit of advanced knowledge might help. I see no reason why it won't fit, unless there is another difference between '02 and '03 suspensions that I am unaware of.

I guess in the end I answered my own question....oh well.
