Programming for JCW CAI?

Does the mcs need to have some minor programming done in order to activate the flap valve in the JCW air filter box? I have seen advertising that suggest programming is required but I have had a mini dealer say no programming is necessary. Which is it?

You would only need to have programming done if you did the intake & injectors. Like minimarks says you won't need it for the airbox.
