JCW shift points
Trick question. If your goal is maximum acceleration ( as in drag racing ) then the answer is just before the rev limiter kicks in. That would be true for stock, JCW, modded, whatever.
You'll here discussions about looking at a dyno plot and shifting so that you end up at the torque peak in the next gear, but people seem to forget that the torque to the wheels is the amount produced by the engine multiplied by the overall gear ratio (minus parasitic losses, which don't really apply to this discussion). Thus, the car always accelerates better in the lowest gear possible for the vehicle speed.
Now if you are talking about track work or autocrossing then there are far more things to consider.
