Failed motor mount

Pulled my '06 GP in the garage today and noticed some drops on the floor, opened the hood and looks like the motor mount has failed. Only has 16k on the clock, but is 20 years old at this point.

My question is, are people still replacing with OE mount, or going with something different?

Thanks,
Andy

i went with a Vibra-Technics MIN906M fast road

pretty much bombproof

WayMotorWorks used to offer a TexasSpeedWerks version but i don't think it's available anymore,
virtually the same as the Vibra-Technics except uses stock bolt instead of incorporated into the design

this type of mount does slightly increase vibration felt in the cabin, but not excessively so in my opinion,
altho yes it is subjective & that threshold for NVH is best left for individual perception

some people opt for stock+
by adding poly top:

:

and some people just do a straight stock replacement

oh yeah,
forgot to add,
likely you've already cleaned up the fluid,
but if not would be a good idea to go ahead & get it all off the paint as it can stain & be a bugbear to remove if sat too long

soap&water or Dawn or SimpleGreen should do the trick safely without damaging paint

these mounts almost always seem guaranteed to fail, just a matter of time,
sometimes lasting only a short while,
here's an early report of such failure:

If I go OE for now, since the car is not driven much, this orginal mount has lasted 20 years, and decide to add the powerflex bushing, which is preferred the red or yellow?

I usually only take the GP out for spirited back road driving.

Thanks,
Andy

Yep i had an OE and its was fine. The problem was the oil that came out stained my Hot Orange paint. I cleaned it up and used a touch up paint pen in hot orange to cover it up.

Powerflex has a little insert now linked below. Yellow one is softer and good for daily so you dont get vibrations and feedback in the steering.

Get that oil off asap.

We just use a new Genuine MINI mount with the powerflex insert, this is actually what I have in my GP now.
