Clutch replacement,? slave cylinder expense?

Clutch went out today. Local mechanic has serviced car for years. Diagnosis is to replace clutch and slave and master cylinders. Could be 4k, SE Florida. 2006 Mini, Comments?

Nope, that sounds about right. Although, you “May” be able to talk him into charging straight time, instead of book time. The whole job should take a single mechanic about 2 full work days to do it right. It used to be ~$1200 for parts and about the same for labor. Parts are probably about the same cost, but labor is more expensive these days.

I think the cylinders if have no issues you can keep, and make sure you do the rear main while there. How many labor hours? I think book time is like 10-11?
