F54 jcw jb4

Hi all...
Just got into this side of the world. Picked up a 17 Clubman JCW.

Perf mods so far:
Kyostar intake (covered)
JB4

Questions...
I'm running MAP1 on the JB4, which seems fine.
I tested MAP2 and it seems the trims are maxing out. Waiting on thoughts on the JB4 forum, but wanted to see if there any learnings here, as there doesn't seem to be much talk there.

The MAP2 guys...
What mods are you running? Bigger fuel pump? Bigger injectors? Meth?
I know downpipe and FMIC are popular upgrades, but I know from past cars, both the DP/FMIC will increase power, but neither will let me run more boost. Well technically the FMIC can, but right now I'm running in cool temps, so that shouldn't be the issue.

I keep reading that the fuel system is strong enough to max out the turbo, but clearly if trims are maxing out, that can't be the case
OR....
Am I supposed to run trims maxed out and worry about other vars (like timing, AFR, etc)?

Just a little confused. Any insight would be appreciated.

I'm reading our JCW injectors are 380cc, vs for other models it's 340cc. That in itself should allow us to run more boost.

One one side I'm hearing the turbo maxes out before the fuel system, on the flip side JB4 shows otherwise. I see R52 have a 550C tune, anything like that for our cars?

Thise injector sizes are for the older R53 engines. These later models use completely different specs since they are direct injection.

Sorry, can’t help you out with the JB4 module. I would think you’d possibly need help from Burger?

Hey....thanks for replying. Burger seems to have limited support for our platform.
The path seems to be "run tune 1 on premium gas" - basically +4 PSI boost.
"run tune 2 with either meth injection or better fuel" - basically +6 PSI boost.

I'm not really a fan of high management solutions like that.

I did do research into Dinan vs BM3, and both of those need you to have the DME unlocked, and flashed, only to have the risk of the dealer upgrading and relocking the DME, then having to go through unlocking again :\. Also it seems the BM3 doesn't really have significant gains for the JCW.

I was just curious what others were doing .

Yeah, those plug in modules won't give huge gains mostly because of how they work. They trick the ECU into running into a remote operating map by manipulating certain engine sensors. Real gains are had from ECU remapping. From my research, if your ECU was manufactured prior to sometime around end of 2018, no bench unlock is needed. After that, and unlock would be needed. Your car being a 2017 model year, you can get an over-the-air tune without much issue.

@Lou@Prototype-R has keys for tweaking these ECUs. Try reaching out to him for some guidance. He tuned my 2012 R55 Clubman, and has just started looking at my 2018 JCW.
