Hi.
I bought the car not running off a complete grub that was the previous owner. 70k milles all servicing records except for recent minor services.

So he drove it untill the timing chain chewed out the top guide and even some of the alloy frame that hold it. Eventually the chain broke and all exhaust valves were slightly bent. Suno was filled with timing chain guides...



All that has been rectified. Valves replaced. Head machined timing chain kit.

It's all back together and runs. Expected noisy as hydraulic lifters fill. The manual said turn it over until the oil light goes out. I don't get an oil light at all. Even if I disconnect the oil pressure switch.
It runs....citizens down then as it warms a little it gets noisy again.. There is some oil under the rocker cover but I would describe it as just wet.

​​​​​I have removed the oil pump but it looks ok and stripped it down and cleaned. Removed the oil filter. All looks ok. Some say their oil pump has a solenoid. Mine does not.

Thoughts?

 

I'd pull the oil pressure sensor and make sure it makes an unholy mess, then put an oil pressure gauge on it...
