JCW GarageInterested in John Cooper Works (JCW) parts for your 2nd Generation MINI? This is where JCW upgrades and accessories for the MINI Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S (R56), and Cabrio (R57) MINIs are discussed.
Hi everyone, I’m new to the forum. I just recently purchase a 2010 JCW, is my second mini and is a project that I’m trying to bring back to life. The mini is in good condition just need a new paint job and some small repairs. Right now I have to replace the valve cover that is leaking. It looks like oil is coming from the PCV valve enclosure. I was planning to buy the one from ECS. Any recommendations?
Thank you for adding me to the forum! As you can see there’s some oil residue around the coil plugs. The previous owner installed a new valve cover back in October 2023. I was reading that the aftermarket covers tend to fail. Any suggestions? Thank you!!
I have an aftermarket plastic Bremmen Parts version and its fine so far. Most of the time people spill oil when doing an oil change, then it looks like a leak (clean it up first). The Genuine MINI ones don't last too long either, many heat cycles and they can leak their also. Make sure if you do get a new one to install according to the install sequence.
The ones we have are fine, we have people running them. Other brands i have seen issues. Most of the time its installed wrong or they did not tighten down the oil cap or attach the hose right. We also carry lifetime replacements for the original owner. https://www.ecstuning.com/LifetimeReplacement/
Hello, I am the admin for the global World Championship 50 Facebook group. Please join us if you have not. I run a spreadsheet of all identified WC50’s and would like to add your car if it is not on our listing. Painting your car will be a difficult task and Connaught Green is no longer a MINI color. You mail have to use Rebel Green if you do, but, that will ruin the originality and collectibility of the car. Paint correction may be an option but the paint is extremely thin as the green was applied after the car was pulled off the line and painted over black. Most of our cars are registered as black in the US. Our group can offer many options and suggestions for this rare MINI. Best wishes.
I work for a body shop and I was able to find a perfect match for the Connaught Green. I have been working with different suppliers to get a match till I finally did. Is funny when I called the dealer in regards the paint code they said that is black.
