Intake filter Modification

Hey
New to the forum first post. Purchased a 2012 Coupe JCW. Looking to do a few modifications One of the first is the intake. Like the sound of the open air, but all you are doing is soaking up the engine heat, I see the stock intake is CAI a little restricted but CAI. I was wondering if anyone knows of a kit where i can change the stock air filter to a cone unit. Thanks in advance.

Check out the AEM intake kit. The AEM kit include a duct to make the hood scoop functional to the filter for additional cooler air intake.

Make sure you get the correct kit for your engine. The 2012 JCW should still have the N14 engine.

Here is an engine comparison picture to help you validate your engine:

Appreciate the info. I was looking at a number of after market intake units but for the price and HP gains doesn't seem worth it. I'm hoping just to put a high flow (cone) filter in and spending my money on modifications with greater bang for the buck.

Has anyone used this unit? I was hoping for an increase in engine noise and keep stock look.

That intake will be just as quiet as stock, and flow ever so slightly more than the S airbox. In my opinion, the ONLY advantage (if you want to call it an advantage) to the JCW airbox is the logo.
