JCW electronic damper control / adaptive suspension

Hi all

I’m just about to purchase a new Countryman here in the UAE and have a choice of 2 stock vehicles - Cooper S and JCW.

I’ve driven and owned a 2018 Cooper S ALL4 in the UK and I’ve test driven a newer one here, neither have adaptive suspension/ EDC . I can’t test drive the JCW, it has adaptive suspension / EDC and I wondered if anyone can shed any light on the likely difference in the ride between the Cooper without and the JCW with adaptive suspension EDC ?

Thanks in advance.

I have only driven 2019 S and 2019 JCW, both F60's, both with adaptive suspension. Yes, it "tightens up" the response of the suspension noticeably. So much so that I wouldn't like it that stiff for everyday driving. When I'm flogging it a bit in corners...fine. Otherwise, I don't turn it on.

I had a loaner with it once... the decrease in comfort was not offset substantially by the perceived increase in handling.

My daily is a sport suspension R60 and I don't find it objectionable for ride quality.
