New arrival JCW Conv.

Well after a few bummer mishaps trying to buy used we went full send and just bought new. We have owned a few Mini's in the past. Been in and out of the brand. First a 12 Cooper S conv for the wife. Then I got an 18 Cooper JCW. AXed it and had a lot of fun. Now we are combining the both for a fun weekend warrior car. We completed the deal yesterday and it will be delivered next week. It is an AWFUL time to buy but we figured we also sold a JL Wrangler and it was an awesome time to sell so it was a wash. More live pics when it arrives or my sales guy send me more.

2022 White Silver metallic and Carbon black dinamica/leather interior
  • Iconic trim
  • Circuit spoke two tone 18"
  • Aluminum interior
  • Driver assistance
  • JCW bonnet stripes
I love to mod all my cars and did a lot to my last JCW to chase a better AX car. Learned a lot as well so there are plenty of things I won't do.

First order of business will be to hard wire and mount my Escort radar detector. Then we will be off on a 10 day road trip down to Florida from Kentucky and what a perfect way to break her in. I would have liked to first get the front covered with PPF but we will not have time for that so I will need to be careful behind big trucks.

I will be looking for other mod suggestions and ideas here. I assume I will look into this "pro exhaust" I keep hearing about. I intend on keeping it as civil of a cruiser as possible.

Congrats! Beautifully optioned and great choice of color. I think some craven brace might be a nice simple mod to stiffen up the chassis. Easy on, easy off later if you want to resell it. On the convertible I hear it’s a great addition. The pro exhaust is a nice touch. Any exhaust will a flap will let you pretend you’re civilized around people who don’t appreciate the noise. Drive her well.

Didn’t sleep much as the car arrived late last night. Already did a full detail, installed and hardwired my radar detector as well as tinted the corner lights a bit darker to blend into the black fenders.

We are taking a 10 day road trip and sadly I could not get in before but when we return it is getting full front PPF and windows tinted.

Lmao!! I did too when I took delivery of my ‘21 JCW F56. Beautiful JCW btw, love the color! Did you get the HK Sound? Lots of ‘22 vehicles are missing options due to computer chips, wondering if you were affected. Love those Wheels!!! May jump on those for summer use!! Congrats and enjoy it! Jose

Thanks. Mine did come with the HK sound but I heard the same thing. The dealer said it wasn’t all or nothing but hit or miss with the HK orders. This one had it. I like the wheels. My 18 JCW hardtop I put on some racing dynamics wheels for AX and I liked those. I will run these for a while as I am liking them a lot.

I have the belt line tape coming to get that chrome look all off. Then I may do the pro exhaust. I also have a dongle coming to program a few things with BimmerCode. PPF and window tint when we get back from our road trip as well.

That’s great! You can always “Painters Tape” the front and lower section while your on your trip. I did it while I was waiting for my PPF guy to fit me in. Also, don’t let anyone tell you you can’t get a JCW Pro Exhaust, clearly it fits as I have mine installed on my ‘21 JCW except I was not able to use the tune that comes with it which fine, it’s not needed. You may want to look into the OEM Black Belt Line, looks really clean looking and last a lot longer. Just food for thought, Enjoy Jose

Looks great. Just took delivery of my hardtop in the same color (but red roof) two days ago.

A set of these Black Jack for winter covers would look great with your silver and black.

We just got back from our 1500 road trip in Z1PPY.

Here are some observations
  • Super fun and not a bad road trip car. We had the top down a lot.
  • We averaged about 31 MPG on the trip. Not surprising a lot of highway cruising.
  • The lane departure is completely worthless. Mini needs to take some lessons from other manufacturers.
  • The convertible really needs blind spot monitoring as there apis a pretty good dead spot on the passenger side
  • I guess my car doesn’t have an alarm so even though I have it set to flash the lights once locked the car does nothing so it is very hard to tell if the car was locked. Sure miss having a little audible sound to tell me.
  • Suspension seems a little nicer then our older JCW. Big hits and potholes will still knock your fillings out. Thought we bent a wheel a couple of times driving some horrible Alabama roads. Man that state needs some work on the highways.
  • Glad we had the radar detector installed before the trip. It saved us a couple of times.
Over all we had a blast. Time for a good cleaning.

Looks good.

i actually like the subtlety of the lane departure warning so far. I’ve had rental cars before that made me feel like they were going to push me over a full lane when lane departure kicked in.

Very Nice Change! Absolutely a must do project whether you do yourself or get the OEM Black Line pieces but after looking at yours the DYI looks really good! Big Change and Love It!
Question? Did you ever think about getting rid of the stripes before you PPF? Not trying to flame or upset, just asking. Enjoy, Jose

Sure did and still may. I am truly on the fence with the stripes (I did not order the car). I have a few more days to decide. Honestly I am very **** and when you look at the stripes closely they are not that high of quality.

So mine came with stripes too from the factory, absolutely pure garbage! Best move I made, it will look 110% better! If you decide to put them on get some aftermarket ones that are high quality and place them on top of the PPF if you really want them. Just a suggestion

Great looking JCW convertible..love your configuration! ...and your garage is awesome. Is that SwissTrax or Racedeck flooring? I've been considering either and would like to know your experiences with ordering and installing. Again...great new ride!

Swisstrax for the second time. I started with Racedeck. Don’t waste your money. Buy Swisstrax. Super easy to install. You will need a circular miter saw to cut some tiles but with that it is super easy.
