NE Dragway finally opened and the JCW got her first tests. Not as good as I expected based on weight to HP ratio. 2 Factors contributed to the times> 1 - Density Altitude was at 1560 which is not great for these little turbo engines. 2- Even using launch control there was a lag on off the line which caused a poor 60 ft and that is a killer in 1/4 mile ET . This is due to torque management. We had the same issue with our M235 until we got a Dinan tune. I made 3 runs allowing 20 minutes or so cool down (which proved to be not enough as the 1st run was the best both in MPH and ET)
Best times: 60 ft 2.24 Trap speed 104,2 ET 13.22 - Rule of thumb for every 1/10 you reduce the 60ft gives you 2/10 at the 1/4 mile ET -
With a tune to improve launch and better air the car should run mid to high 12sec - For sure in will surprise those Golf R Focus GT etc
