F55/F56 2021 GP Options Speculation
2021 GP Options Speculation
Hey out there,
I've got a reservation for a new GP. As I understand it they will be considered 2021, not 2020 (like model 2020/3000 in all of the demo videos might have us believe).
It's very frustrating having to wait with no information. I've heard that there will be only one choice, which is whether you want both Nav and AC or neither. But what suddenly dawned on me are the other options. Things that I love in my current 2016 Hardtop JCW... like my backup cam. Super useful for all the city parking I do. Anyone know anything about this or care to speculate. If it's not an option I'm wondering if that's something that can be added/retrofitted.
Any thoughts out there?

There is a more active thread on this car floating around here on NAM. People on that seem to know a bit about the car.
Specifically all cars sold in the US are required to have a backup camera, that has been for a few years now.

For some reason I think there was some chatter somewhere on one of the forums about 5 options for the GP, but I have not been able to find the thread and mini has been particularly silent about it for some reason. It appears there will plenty of them around for US buyers, but there has been no new information from mini for a while now regarding anything about the GP. It is frustrating for the mini customers that have made the $1,000 commitment to purchase one and not received anything other than an acknowledgement that they received our earnest payment.
From MINI's press release a month ago...
Optional features for the new MINI John Cooper Works GP include automatic climate control, the Connected Navigation Plus package, which also includes telephony with wireless charging, and an alarm system.
