Best chip module tune out there

As the post reads: what's the best chip module tune out there? My Dinan's failure rate is annoying me. What''s out there that can get into 300hp?

Racechip advertises that it gets up near that range with the GTS. I have it in my car. need to get it on a dyno for official number though.

Unless you want to go for a full ECU remap, the NM Power Module has a lot of happy users.

Ditto on the NM, on the low setting I am pushing 270 HP verified by a dyno. With 100 octane I and the butt dyno probably about 285. 46,000+ on the 2016 JCW with no issues other than I am getting ready for #5 set of tires! The OEM Dunlops failed with less than 2,000 miles on them! Great little car with no major issues

I have the Evolve flash tune through the OBDII port. 296hp/358tq at the crank, 256hp/296tq at the wheels.

Swappable from tune to stock with a laptop, and no issues in the last 15k miles or so. Track days are much more fun.

JB4 with Data Cable

Full ECU flash is the way to go for power delivery and control. If that's not an option for you, then JB4 is a great alternative.

We have NEW JB4 units with Data Cable $500 shipped to the Conti-USA.

Brand New JB4 units on Sale!

Dear Bytetronik - can someone drive down from Dallas and get a new intercooler and tune in the same day while they wait? Asking for a friend.

You can take your MINI to iAutowork and they can perform the install and upload the tune using the OBD2 module. What year and model is the MINI? Give Tony a call, he will take care of your friend.

FYI: Airtec is having a backlog on their F56 S and JCW intercoolers. Next ship date on those is July 8th.

I have tried a few of the tuning boxes.

NM- is the best set it and forget it tuning box. I would suggest not running it on the high setting due to how lean the b48 runs stock.

Racechip Ultimate - was just ok but I actually saw multiple situations where it was modifying the signal incorrectly and causing laggy power delivery.

JB4 - ran this on the factory cooper S tune and now running it stacked with the JCW Pro tune. The mobile app is excellent and if you want the ability to tweak your tune you have the ability to do so. Next step is flex fuel wires so I can start running an e85 blend.

I have heard other people say good things about the JB4 as well. I’m interested in learning more about it. Not for anything I own, just for the satisfaction of my own brain. I don’t know anything about them, as I have an N18, not a B48, which has more options available and makes more HP stock than the older engines. I have seen the JB+ which is similar to the NM module for the gen 2’s.
When I eventually pick up a Mini with the B48, I’ll end up just calling Mariokart again, ha ha. But the idea of a companion app to adjust the tune with is very intriguing!

On my 3rd "correct" Dinan module, feels slower than the 2nd one did. Oh well, now what, get ready for a battle, I have to prove it's slower than the 2nd module? I might wait for my lawyer buddy to get back from vacation and take it from there. This is frustrating, I almost got another Camaro 1LE but I got this little beast instead. It may be fun but this is the final dinan straw.
Suggestions/feedback is always welcome.

A flash tune is always an option

I had a Stage 1 ECU flash tune done to my JCW Coupe about 2 years ago for $500 in Tempe, AZ. The guy who did it said about half his customers already had bought a clip on module. That told me all I needed to know about those!

NM Module with NM Exhaust...lots of power which means you better add a Wavetrac LSD to put the power to the ground...IMO

Where exactly did you have this done at. I'm in Phx Metro as well and am curious.

I've got the Racechips GTS. They claim close to 300hp. I honestly don't think it's anywhere near that, but it was definitely an improvement, and for about $450, I can't complain if it makes half what they say.

NM power module. Best bang for the buck for a ton of HP. No issues. Easy to install and remove.

It was in Tempe I forget the name of the outfit. There were used Minis for sale there. I got the name on this forum I'm pretty sure. East of Scottsdale Road north of the Mill Avenue Bridge.
