Because of exclusive terms with JCW, is my bet. We'll see, but I can't imagine JCW allowing MINIUSA to back another kit. The Dinan kit is backed by DEALERS, not MINIUSA, and I don't believe that in this short while FTR could have won the respect of the dealers to the extent that Dinan has these past decades. It doesn't make any sense.

Mini is backing FTR as a team, not as a parts supplier for a production vehicle. There is a huge difference. FTR is doing some cutting edge stuff and Mini wants their name attached to them for publicity and advertisment. Nothing wrong with that. But they are not backing them as a manufacturer of performance products. FTR may have inked some deals with a few dealers, who knows. But I guarantee you that BMW AG did not ink a deal to produce factory warrantied performance products for the Mini.

Does anyone have dyno results of JCW VS aftermarket parts? I bet that would put the argument to rest!

Perhaps, but no it wouldn't.

If your only standard was a dyno reading you would be right. But unfortunately there are other pesky issues...warranty, ease of repair or installation etc. Cash upfront, cost in loan.

There are a number of them from last year I believe. You could try a search, don't remember what threads they were in. But no, that won't solve anything.
