JCW Stock Sport Exhaust vs JCW Pro Valve Exhaust
Unfortunately there are no JCW models where I am to compare. I am looking at picking up a JCW and had this question:
I would like a good exhaust that I can hear in the cabin. How does stock exhaust on a JCW compare to the pro valve version. For $2800cdn I am thinking it would have to be miles better. If it is close, then easy decision to save the cash. Any comments would be appreciated.

Remus is my recommendation. Replaced my stock JCW exhaust with the Remus race exhaust. Best of all worlds ... great idle sound, really good sound on acceleration, great pops and bangs on deceleration and totally quiet at cruise ... and the setting stays where you left it.
Much better option than JCW Pro, which is very expensive since it includes the tuning kit for the S model ... you are paying for things you can't use on a JCW.

I’ve never been a fan of the flap unless you leave it open all the time....that’s where you get a slight horsepower boost due to less restriction. With the flap closed you strangle the exhaust flow to only one side!...which computes to less than stock horsepower! I wonder if anyone has ever done a comparison on a dyno? I’m fine with the stock JCW exhaust for now, and if I ever swap it out It sounds like Ill go with a Remus or similar setup....but not the pro exhaust....that was a cutsie marketing ploy imo....yes it’s fun when it works, but not worth the expense to me.

Based on your other forum post, closed valve/flap still produced more HP than stock:

It’s just always made me curious how the stock JCW exhaust compared to the Pro-exhaust with the flap closed.. Just a reminder, those photos Dan posted of the stock exhaust next to the Pro-exhaust show a stock MCS exhaust....that’s not a JCW exhaust. It does show how much smaller the muffler is on the Pro-exhaust however which may lessen back pressure on the pipe that runs into it.
