Here is a link to my You Tube Channel that has six minis making a 10 minute night run on the complete Tail of the Dragon. 12 miles, 311 curves. We are the lead car in our F56 JCW, the sweeper is also an F56 JCW, and he took the video. The other 4 participants were in R56 JCWs and Ss. It was a great fun run. The LED driving lights were fantastic!

I'm gonna try to do a night run this year. Haven't done one since the "Twilight and Twisties" run in 2014 in my R56.

 

If you attend the MOTD this year we will most likely do another one the night they do the night run for everyone. We wait at Deals Gap until we figure they have almost reached the Tennessee end and then we start ours. Then we catch the last bunch just before they are ready to return and we wait until we guestimate that they have reached Deals Gap or are almost there. Then we hit it hard and have some fun. This has proven effective for us to rid the route of night critters! The first time we did a night run there were 3 bear cubs playing in the middle of the road. We stopped and watched them as they ran around in circles for a few minutes and then finished the run. Lesson learned, allow a lot of cars go thru and then follow at speed after waiting.

You are more than welcome to join us. There are 6-8 of us that run together during the event and wherever the big groups are going we head out for another route and sometimes just explore new ones. The Tail is the draw, but there are a lot of other really good runs as well.
