All are subjective evaluations, I like the crackle, burble, and pop of the JCW PRO and I don't wan't the drone on long trips, therefore, it is closed. However, it is overpriced, but you pay for what you want. And, I guess I am not most people, I have had no bluetooth toy issues.

I picked mine up today. I haven't had the flap closed for more than a couple minutes while driving so far. I need to get the hang of the one and two clicks, and how to read the led indicator. It sounds excellent though! I think I'll get a block of closed cell foam to make a spot for the remote in the door pocket. It definitely didn't close back up either of the times I've driven so far.

The exhaust looks exactly like the one in vetsvette's pic.

Does anyone know if the carbon fiber tip part number includes one tip or two? The dealer thinks just one, which is pretty steep, so I just figured I'd ask if anyone knew.

Your dealer is correct. Price is for one tip only. I went with the JCW ss exhaust tips 'cause I think they look better. Also, I wanted a carbon fiber intake for my bonnet and new car sales mng talked me out of it, saying heat would eventually turn it orange. It that's true, I'd hate to see a carbon fiber exhaust tip after a year. Three weeks with new Mini and no problems with blue tooth exhaust controller.
1. Turn dial to sport setting.
2. Clik bt button twice to open baffle.
3. Hit "start" toggle and enjoy!

Matt, the remote comes with a foam circle that fits cleverly into one of the cupholders and holds the remote in place.

Yeah, it's there. I like to put drinks there from time to time too, so I want it out of the way.

My remote came encased in a round container that fit perfectly in the cup holder.

I like the idea of being able to put it in the door pocket as well to allow the cup holder for my drink. My wife is usually with me and two easy access drink holders are great. I use the one behind the arm rest for my glasses for easy access dependent upon the amount of sun. I will play around with a holder for the door pocket. I keep a compact umbrella in there now, but it can go in the back cargo area instead.

I'll post some pics if I have success. I ordered some chunks of foam intended to be used when loading canoes onto car roofs that I plan to cut down to fit it.

Cupholder is perfect to hold container for my blue tooth exhaust controller. Other than that, not necessary as no one (including myself) EVER brings a beverage into my Mini.

I definitely have a drink or two in there every now and again.

I really enjoy this exhaust. Might just tie it permanently open, buy the remote is easy enough for now . I'm pretty sure the exhaust I had on my Golf R was louder, but definitely lacked the super gratuitous poppitude this one has :p

I've got the remote basically where I want it now.

It's pretty much out of sight, so the color of the foam doesn't bug me too much. We'll give it a try for a bit.

Styrofoam, I have been searching for some closed cell in black. I may rethink my plan.

Nah, it is closed cell foam. Just in gray. I made it from a foam block made for mounting a canoe on the roof of a car.

I like the location, I moved mine into the rear cupholder, but it is awkward to reach and I am unable to see it to verify it is on although that is not a real problem as I can hear it! Still I like the side pocket better and the cup holders available for whatever. I have thrown a ton of the foam away over the years although I used to be a hard core pack rat. It's not a major problem, simply a tweak.

I found some closed cell phone that I was unaware that I had saved and it worked perfectly after trimming it to fit into the driver's side door pocket. Kudos and thanks to Mattkosem!

Slick! I like the spot still. Out of sight but in easy reach.

Darn spell check, closed cell foam! Yes, I really like the location, thanks again for sharing a good idea.

I got a chance to check out a JCW with the AWE Touring Exhaust and honestly, it's far better sounding and looking over the JCW kit. It's much more deep, resonant and throaty sounding, where the JCW is more crackles and popcorn. The tips of the AWE are much larger and sexier looking too.

The only benefit I see in paying an extra $1000 for the JCW is having the Bluetooth toy, which it seems most people complain about anyway. Also manufacture warranty issues on your car, if you want to keep it OEM.

Otherwise... the AWE wins hands down for sound but also for looks.
Just got mine installed today. You're right on all points in my opinion. Best sound out of a 4 banger I've ever heard.

Anyone try running the Borla midpipe with their JCW Pro exhaust? Sounds like it could be a match made in heaven, with a bit of cutting (I presume).

I'm considering swapping out my JCW Pro exhaust and replacing it with the track version of the AWE system. I'm not unhappy with the JCW because it has worked flawlessly since installing in January. I did have a problem with the flap closing on me at the Dragon a couple weeks ago, but after it failed completely I changed the battery in the remote and it solved the problem. I forgot to keep a spare battery (2032) in the car. The main reason I'm considering it is for the esthetics. I think the black tips would look better with the way I have my car blacked out. I refuse to spend the ridiculous amount of money they want for the OEM CF tips.
